Everyone's Evil Twin by JJJANEE
Click and choice, Puzzle solving; The rules are hidden in the storyline! ;)
Play the role of a little shapeshifter, experience his/her life, and solve puzzles!
The game engine is KRKR/KAGexpress. It is mostly made for Galgames and interactive novels, which means I'm really not using it as how it should be used...
UPDATE 4/21: Increased the text rolling speed since that seemed to be a big problem :)
===================Rules==================
The text rolled terribly slow, so here are the rules in short:
- You are the person with a rainbow circle on the head
- You cannot be seen by the person that you look exactly like
- You can do one of the two things: move or turn into another person
- You can move to all tiles next to you, except for the ones where the person you look like currently can see (with the red sight area)
- You can turn into any person you currently are not by clicking on their head
- In levels 5-9, you need to meet with a certain person first before you go to the goal (the person for that specific level is in the story/text before the level)
- In levels 8-9, in addition to meeting with someone, you also need to turn into another person at the goal to win
Once I write it out I realized how complicated I had made it to be... lol
===================Things I need to say=====================
I didn't have time to make any music so the game is silent for the combo entry. I'll try to finish that part up after I finish all my school work that is due tomorrow...
The last level is not exactly complete. It needs work. Also, there is a lost bracket somewhere in the code that I just cannot find, which means that a bracket would print on screen once in a while...
I messed up somewhere with the system variables; the continue, story, and level button should be greyed out in the beginning, but somehow that is not happening.
But... I'm finally here! This is my first time participating in LD and I really enjoyed it. My game is not perfect, but I'm still really proud of it. This has been so much fun!
//I'm going to spend the next 2 hours working on the art (because a lot of it is still very bad) and hopefully audio. I'll write more description afterwards. <- the art part was done lol
yay!

It's a fun little puzzle game, I really wish the text went faster though, I read much faster than the text was scrolling by and there was a whole lot of dialogue with apparently no conclusion.
BAck to the puzzle part, I really did enjoy the puzzles but the whole thing wasn't explained, like what does the green x do? What do the arrows mean? What are these faces and which one is me? It took a while to actually understand what was happening. But once I did the puzzles were fun.
I'll put the rules in the description instead. Thank you so much for playing, and thank you for the feed back! (This is my first LD and just the fact that someone played my game makes me sooooo happy...)
There should have been a way to speed up the text because some people are faster readers or have already read that text several times.
Aside from that this was a really interesting puzzle game, I don't believe that I have played a game like this before and the text really conveys the mood and may even some deeper messages. The story of the game is actually interesting.
One other problem is with the people that move sideways. Unless you were paying attention to them from the move before its impossible to tell which way they will move if they're in the middle of the screen but maybe that isn't really a bad thing - You need to pay attention to everything all the time.
Overall it was a fun and interesting puzzler.
Music would have helped the mood a lot.
The point that made me quit after winning round two was that I couldn't skip the story, which I found hard to get into, especially since the text progressed quite slowly.
I think overall it's a very solid entry that needs a little bit of extra polish.
I just wish the text were faster (I am impatient person ;-)), and that it didn't look so blurry (because of the shadow).
Overall, very well done though!
I beat it, but no other levels showed up.
