Hack and Slash game where you need to obtain all 4 magical gems in the forest, swamp, rocky barrens and desert.

You can use the reward pads to get better weapons, but at the cost of some of your life, reducing your HP and increasing your ages.

Controls:

  • WASD - Movement
  • Space - Attack
  • Q - Change Weapon

Ran very close to the time limit, so you need to restart the game after winning or losing, sorry!

Built with Rust and Amethyst

Note: Two after hours bugfixes were added:

  1. The axe hitbox was wrong
  2. The gold sword was using the regular sword icon

I was unable to die. I just stayed at a sliver of a heart for forever.

That's a known bug I didn't get to fix unfortunately :( Once the enemy is swarming you, if they never break away from you that enemy doesn't do damage again.

Good game. I think adding some simple sounds and making the weapons actually being guarded like cards would make it choices more interesting - like should i take an axe with easy defence or should i go for a risky golden sword...

But anyway I actually was interested in Rust for games, so i will be checking your implementation and Amethyst :)

Kudos for braving the Compo with an Amethyst game.
Link to theme is obvious, and more or less the same as we chose for our own game.
Some simple sounds would have helped improving the mood, but I understand that there's never enough time =)
