  • WASD keys control the robot
  • Space shoots, you got unlimited bullets
  • 'Q' and 'E' sacrifice a minigun to restore robot health

Whew, I made it! In time and even got something finished too. There's a game loop, victory/defeat condition, simple mechanics, physics and collisions, some graphics, and even some (poor) sounds. The idea was based on the theme, although I didn't have much time to realize it in the end. The robot can lose one or two of it's add-on miniguns. Currently, it only restores some health, but the original idea was make a larger level where the player has to control the robot deeper into ever-narrowing corridors and the only way to proceed would have been to ditch guns and other equipment to fit there.

The game was made using Godot running on a Linux. I did all the arts and coding myself. Graphics were primarily created with Inkscape as vector graphics and then exported into png. Some graphics (like the background) were done with Gimp. The graphic texts were made with a super-easy online tool, as there was no time anymore to make them by hand. Yet they're probably the best graphics in the game :stuckouttongue: Sounds were hastily done with SFXR. There's no music, although I would've loved to create something. Probably would have used LMMS for that.

Overall, it was very nice to work on the game, and learned little bit more again about Godot. Also had a ton of fun at a local ldjam gathering we had here, laughing together at all those weird bugs people had with their games  I didn't have any great expectations for the game itself, just wanted to participate and try to make something finished this time.

Excellent graphics! I like the idea of sacrificing weapons, the concept idea is great. Pretty fun to play!

The browser version doesn't work. I downloaded the game after, and it ran fine. while I think the premise was good, I didn't like the controls that much. I think it would have been easier to control the robot if WASD was to move only, and the mouse was to aim and shoot. Though thats just my opinion! other than that this was pretty good.

Fun action shoot-em-up! Felt like my bullets were made out of foam, but I incorporated that into my own 'backstory'
Possible tweaks: Add some powerups, make the bots weaker, alternative radius attack with cooldown :)
