Four teenagers are lost in the woods, and they have to pay with their souls to get past an angry toll collector. To open the way home they have to collect the three magic stone-things. Click on the buttons in the left corner to switch between them.

There are four characters to play as: Adam, an alien.... thingy with a large sword. Benny, a fat kid with a magic wand. Mel, with a large area-damage-ability. Alex, who can swing her hair around to damage enemies!

Programs used: Unity, Photoshop, Bosca Ceoil, Audacity.

HAVE FUN!

Glitchy I can agree but the music and the characters immediatly made me smile :) I got lost after the guy opened me the bars, I experimented with the four characters until I found a portal which made one of my player leave and I couldn't select it again. I dont know why but if you go to the top left of the map you start getting 10fps or less. Hope you'll expand on it ! The game is fun but i don't feel it fits the theme that well or maybe i'm missing somthing.

@bleyo Thanks :D
The idea I had was that you pay with one of your party members lives, instead of paying with money. But I agree the gameplay doesn't fit super well. And.... for some reason the enemies cause extreme lag, will have to look into that

Cute little game! I really like your implementation of the theme, having to give up party members to get through doors. Like the other comments, it was a bit buggy for me in parts, but I still managed to get through a couple rooms. Thanks for creating and sharing!

Just reached the labyrinth, never understand the power of the long hair girl, my favourite character is the "b" dude, fun to play and sacrifices for open the doors are a cool mechanic. Congratulations!

The one way I can describe the game is adorable. The art style and music made my day. Aside from some of the technical issues which happen with everyone, issues my recommendation is clearer focus on what to do since I had no idea what to do (Maybe its just me). Overall super nice and I loved the implementation of the theme.

Good game. Why? Because it's entertaining, that's why. It put a smile on my face with this goofy combination of graphics, sounds, and gameplay. Solid game. If I need to chose 1 aspect to improve it would be the game "action feedback". It lacks impact, but besides that, nice work. Enjoy your craft!

This is pretty cool, it's almost like a mini zelda game. The four characters all feel quite different but each is fun to use. I like that you have to sacrifice one to get to each area until you face the final boss with one character. I think it would better fit the theme of the previous ld "sacrifices must be made", but that's an issue with the current theme in my opinion, it's too similar. It seems a shame that you made a dialogue system and used it only at the beginning, you could find random npcs that say stuff to you. The music is very nice as well. Excellent work

Bit hard to steer and fight maybe, but fun to play. The music is a little repetitive, the graphics nice somehow and the monsters look special. Made me smile, yes. :smirk:

Very charming art, story, and music!

The way each character had their own thing was cool.

I found it was a little tedious to walk around lost. There weren't a ton of landmarks, and sometimes whole screens of nothing where I couldn't even see I was moving. Maybe I experienced an extreme amount of this because I just couldn't find the last temple thing to get the leaf. I walked the edges all the way around twice, and then exploited a glitch to get outside the map completely and tried to find a second glitch to get into the final area after I gave up finding the third temple. Finally I found another way back into the game area, and I was just about to give up, but I thought NO, I'll try one more wander, but this time diagonal, and I happened to stumble into it!

That meant I was able to complete the game! This is an indication of how charming the characters were, because I was invested enough to wander quite a lot to find out what happened.

I was a bit sad that whatever happened at the end, I didn't really get to see it, I was clickspamming my fatkid magic wand at the boss and then he died but I click a few more times. So if there was any story or whatever, I didn't get to see it.

I found a few issues while playing:

- When your character uses his soul to open a door, he remains the active character even though control passes to another party member the camera does not follow you, here is an example of the party moving into the temple but the camera remaining behind: https://imgur.com/a/Ru43uK6 I almost gave up on the game here until I figured out you need to click to change active member to resolve this

- You can escape out of the game area through these cracks in the edges: https://imgur.com/a/KYg34xX

- You can strand party members who fall behind and go into a corner: https://imgur.com/a/GrLYyPG

Arg I didn't mean to focus on the downsides. This was charming, interesting, and a REALLY impressive amount of scope for a compo entry! You had a lot of characters, abilities, and enemies! You created a large world that I was invested in seeing through to the end.

Nice work!

@pkenney Woah that's a lot of feedback! Thank you!
Most of these issues I wanted to fix, however creating the characters took so much time :(
Although the out of bounds glitch I didn't know of, thanks for letting me know!
I wanted you to feel sorta lost but if I had more time I would definitely add more landmarks, paths etc. to guide you to the dungeons. About the ending, there's supposed to be a boulder that lands on the last player's head. Maybe you had multiple players left and that's why it didn't work? Hmm. Anyways you didn't miss much xD
Thanks again dude for the comment!
