Haunted House on 43rd Street by Franklins Ghost

Didn't get much time to work on my game this time as I flew away with family to celebrate Christmas early. Also decided that this time I would create something with my 7 year old Nephew. So he came up with the idea and story. I did the art and tried to bring it all together. Also made for Portrait mode on mobile cause he wanted to play it on that.

It's an unfinished mess but he had a great time making it, so it was my funnest time doing one of these.

The game is a choose your own adventure in a haunted house where the more options you have the worse the game is.

Great team effort! I liked horror of the game. It was quite wonderful. The audio was a bit stressful, but then again, that was the purpose. And as always it is fun to see what wiggly creation had been spawn into life this time. Quite obviously it would have been fun with more options and paths to explore, but it didn't show too much on the first play-through.

Cool! I've worked with kids and stories before and they really have a special kind of imagination. Visuals are fun and interesting as usual. It's funny, you kinda, sort of approached "options" similar to how I did in my game (also horror/interactive story).

Excellent little game! Working with your nephew was a tops choice, the game has a wonderfully surreal feel to it, and knowing that was created from earnest belief in the story makes that all the better. Congratulations to the both of you!

Weirrd vibe! (that is a good thing)
Would have loved a few more choices, felt like there weren't any paths that had a different outcome.
Liked how you could do the same interaction multiple times, but would have been great if something actually happened if I did one a lot. ;)

Cool start to a weird adventure game!

I liked this, it had a really nice vibe to it, with a sort of quirky horror style atmosphere, like a cheesy scooby-doo movie. The animation was really quite stunning, and the audio added to the atmosphere nicely. The story had it's own little charm to it, that I found rather surreal, creative, and non-sensical in a really unique and nice way (probably due to the imagination of a seven year old). I would have liked more endings, or at least a more solid ending, but given the circumstances I can see why the current ending is in place. Overall this is a really nice game that I replayed just so I could see everything in it, even the smallest little differences

that was really surreal... I bet that your nephew helped a lot to this regard.

I have really had fun, and the visual art is wonderfull. We can see that you have had fun !

At first I have loved the music, but very quickly it got annoying. I think that it would greatly had been improved, if it changed a bit with the scene.

What a weird game! But that was... Great?
Loved the art, loved the audio, it was weird and it was great this way. I would say it lacked a bit of different pathways, but overall, a strong entry and I'm sure you had a lot of fun making this game.

Congrats to both of you!

That was fun. I liked the creepy music in the background and that the sound effects seem to have been performed by someone's mouth. I love the animations. I wish there was some more gameplay or some more properly diverging paths. Possibly multiple endings. I want more! I understand why there isn't, though.

Also, I LOVE that there is an android version! That's what I played.

Nice job.

Hahahah I really loved the mood of this one :D great job once again as usual with the animation, the music and sfx are particulary well licked and polished, the narration style and the option are very entertaining :) I just wish it was a little bit longer as it was really great XD Congratulation for working as a team with your kid and family, this is great :x Ho I almost forgot, but btw I could'nt play it on my laptop, and I remember that I couldn't launch your 2 last LD entries neither with it :/ It works perfect on android so that was fine anyway :)
Cheers !

My only wish is that it could have been a bit longer!
I don't think it really followed the theme of the jam, but I was well entertained anyway. Nice work!

Hi there, here is some feedback,

 **What I liked:**
✱ You brought me in, the mood is excellent
✱ Animations for all scenes, impressive!
✱ Played on my phone, all went fine, overall realisation is neat

:muscle: **What imo could be improved:**
✱ The take on the theme is great, but there was not enough options to make the idea works that way (at least for the player, I'm pretty sure it got worse for the dev ;-) )
✱ Sounds (on mobile) were unpleasant to hear. There must be ways so that they can remain in the mood without being pain to hear.

:sparkles: **Overall**
✱ Technical realisation is great, story and moods are strange and disturbing: that's great again! I wish it was longer, thanks for the game!

Weird experience, but in a good way. It was fun to play and the graphics and music made for a very interesting experience and all animations and sound effects + dialog was quite intriguing. Not exactly sure how to interpret the theme in this game but I suppose that if the game would be longer it would make more sense. The further you go, the worse it gets?

Anyway, excellent mood and quite humoristic aswell. Great job!

I played it few times - the artwork is good, the music is very fitting :)
Gameplay was simple but fun.
Is it possible to win this game? :P

Well animated and pretty fun, although most of the option lead to the same outcome 🤔
It would interesting to see a more fleshed-out project in this style.

I dig it. The use of sound was pretty good. You did an excellent job of creating atmosphere here. I get that you did not have as much time as you would have liked but I could really see how you had fun with this and that really shows up. If you could have gotten some voice work into the narration, that would have been great. I love the collaboration between young and old. It reminds me of Axe Cop.

The animations were pretty solid! I think having more impactful choices would have been a strong boon - it felt like just about every path would lead me to the same fate.
