Cargotastrophe by Pixelectric

[raw]
made by Pixelectric for LD 40 (JAM)

Basically loot collecting in space. Everything you beam aboard will get you points at the local space station, but your cargo will do damage to your ship over time. You might or might not make it back safely.

Very cool! Game has plenty of things to collect, and who doesn't like some outer-space colelcting. Controls very clean too. Maybe I missed the main objective though:)

I liked the compass leading you back home and the animation for the capturing of space items. Controls were simple once learnt. After a while it became apparent that there was no real progression and not much challenge to the game. Probably needed more in the way of game structure. The items themselves were cute, there were a few (ok) sound effects (no music) and I could see the link between the theme and your deteriorating ship. Overall a very solid effort! :)

Fun game! The messages could have been a bit more in your face as they were a fun addition. Also with the items staying so close to the base there was no real reason to stray far. Of course, you know all these things! Very fluid gameplay, and the compass is an excellent feature!

Looks like a complete and polished game. What I missed is a challenge though. As it is, the best strategy is to pick up everything and make short trips. It would be better if there was a necessity for making longer trips, so that some real strategy comes into play.
