ShiftMania by Pedro120

ShiftMania!

Drive around the track as fast as possible and use the 'A' and 'S' keys to become wider or narrower. You'll need to do this to get between the obstacles and block any opponents from overtaking you.

Use the arrow keys to move.

If you join and you can't control anything, there may be a round in progress, look at the Time Remaining shown. Whilst you wait, you should be tracking one of the other players.

The round also takes a few seconds to start, so don't be worried if you can't move at first.

If you're playing via the Ludum Dare website, press full screen, or the arrow buttons will just scroll your window rather than steer the car.

At the end of the Jam, we didn't quite get the end of the lap triggering the start of a new one, but try the following link for the version where that feature is fixed. Finished the feature an hour late.

Nice idea to scale the car to pass obstacles. A little more polishing for the controlls and a little more would be nice. But I like the idea :)

Nice idea. I got around once and it said I had negative time left.

Not really much point to make the car wider and the collision physics got me stuck in a wall. Nice concept and I enjoyed it overall.

Hard to control, couldn't seem to go backwards which led to a couple restarts. Love the idea, would like to see where this goes.

Nice idea! It's a little bit too easy for the car to get stuck, but there's potential here.

Controls works fine but car is often stuck, perhaps a little more adjustments on physics would solve it. Good idea anyway. :)

The camera movement is a bit awkward. I got stuck on the walls a few times too. The concept is really nice thought.

Had a great time blocking other cars, cool concept and I can see you guys have passion for drift.
