Silicon Boulevard is a Noire/SciFi themed 2D adventure game. splash.png

Plot:

My designation is Hughbert A Stanley Pecketdale, a surveillance officer from the grand city of CITY. Last night whilst investigating... something... I was brutally attacked. My memory banks and power core were greatly damaged, I only remember mere fragments of what occurred, a golden ray gun. But every second I am losing more power. Now I must search for clues to learn the truth and get more power before time runs out and I suffer deactivation.

Changelog: Fixed the pause menu and changed render layer of some objects. Link to old builds: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzhAyh2s_45gUkFYd3Z1S2p0Rms

Great little game, I might have a bit of a bias since I made a noir game for ld36, the game is a bit rough with menus and thing not fitting my resolution but overall I had a good time!

The mood of the game is awesome, very noire. But it's confusing to play. I got stock after finding the box.

Love noire games :)
But there seems to be a problem with the menu. It is staying in place for some time. I managed to remove it after restarting the game for about 3 times.

Otherwise, the game is really cool. The noire theme blends well with your artwork, music and sound effects. Reminds me of classic games that I used to play on my old PC! Takes me back to then :)

Great work. Congratulations! :D

Good job, At the diolauge with the robot dog guy the game froze but until that I did enjoy it. It wasn't the prettiest but the music and audio were good and fit the game well. I'm aware that the combat system probably wasn't top priority but the hit boxes could have been a bit bigger to make it easier to hit the enemies.

The graphics are nice and the idea of lamps in a noire game is good but it is too confusing.

As the others stated there are some (mostly visual) bugs, but when you get past them there's a nice adventure underneath. Props for going the story based route, that's hard to pull of in a jam.

I liked the noire setting and the overall tone of the game. Also the graphics have some really nice details.

The gameplay however was a bit confusing and it looked like I was inadvertently skipping plot elements.

Pretty cool game. Love noire games. Execution was a little rough, but for a story this involved, that's probably justified :) Nice work!

I like the setting, but it's a little hard to shoot. I kept getting killed.

Nice main character! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKdZrHdMrvE

Bit confusing but the noire element was certainly there. Good job.
