L.I.G.H.T. - Made in under 48 hours for Ludum Dare 35
I highly recommend the tutorial. Read through it all maybe?
====================================
Patch 0.8 for the Post-Compo is out!
====================================
Changelog: http://pastebin.com/i9mm9UgE
What does light stand for? Well, the theme was Shapeshifter, so why not take a word and make it stand for something. 5 things you can turn into with unique abilities.
L - Log = Gives Massive Health Regen, but you cannot move. Detectable
I - Insect = Gives flight, medium regen on both. Detectable, but hard
G - Grass = Gives complete undetectability, medium regen on both. Undetectable
H - Human = Can Walk, high jump, slightly higher regen on both, Detectable
T - Tiger = Can Attack, meh jump, Extremely high speed, Highly Detectable
Your Objective is to take a Light, obtain it, and return to your portal.
Controls:
WASD - Move
1 - Shapeshift into Log
2 - Shapeshift into Insect
3 - Shapeshift into Grass
4 - Shapeshift into Human
5 - Shapeshift into Tiger
Control or Left Click - Attack
Space - Jump
To climb walls, press space repeatedly against a wall.
ADVANCED CONTROLS:
Grass Slider:
While in Tiger or Human mode, hold down D to walk and switch to grass. The grass will now slide. Works for Log.
Speed Boost:
While in Insect mode, switch to tiger then back. Make sure you have Mana.
Be sure to comment any bugs.
Patch 0.1:
Changed file format to .zip
Patch 0.15:
Deleted unnecessary files from Windows Download

Did you read the tutorial? And sorry for the GUI bug, its that the Web version doesn't work for my game, I will remove it.
:(
Working on it.
I tried rebuilding it, does it work?
It's a lot of instructions to absorb all at once. There's a lot of controls and forms etc that all come at you right away. Ideally, if you had had more time, I would have loved to see thing introduced gradually. But I know it's just 48 hours. :-)
I had trouble figuring out what "light" looked like, since there was "light" everywhere: in the campfire, the torches, those flaming fireball things. An image would have been helpful, or maybe call it "Glowing White Orb" or something so it's less confusing.
I also saw a bug on the 2nd floor of the building over to the right, a human was walking through the wall and out to the outside. Looked like he was just on a path that didn't pay attention to collision/gravity.
Great menu screen, always a nice touch!
Nice work!
It was rough at first to get all the mechanics and how they worked together but once that was done, it become a bit too easy though I haven't yet finished it.
Minor grip: no way to turn music off (and keep the sound effect). Got annoying quickly.
Otherwise, very nice entry!
Also, if you are interested in my entry, it is in my team mate's account, and you can play it here:

The game is quite good!
Graphics are simple, but well done and with a consistent style. I also liked the chiptune-ish sounds!
The main mechanic, of switching forms, felt too overwhelming. You are introduced to all forms at once and must memorize what each should be used for...
I ended up using only tiger+grass for horizontal movement and fly whenever I needed vertical movement.
Perhaps if you had made more levels, introducing a new form each level... don't know.
Great job!
What you said is actually really cool, I never thought of it myself. I was going to revamp the tutorial, but know I am going to introduce level by level! Thanks so much!
Always good to see a working tutorial as well (though I managed to die in it, but that's on me).
From reading the comments (and between the lines in the description): Your approach to bugs also brings a smile to my face: 'Does it give the player any sort of advantage? Then it's not a bug!' :-)
I'm just missing some sound-FX (and/or visual) on being hit, that would help a lot, I think!
[spoilers]
Is the tunnel-route supposed to be that easy compared to the above-ground one?
THanks for rating/giving a detailed comment xD
Yes, I forgot to put particles/sound logic for when the player is hit, there actually is a sound for it though.
Also, the tunnel was a little interesting, because I put it there to be an alternate route thinking there would by 3, the sky, mainland, and underground.
It is too easy though. Again, thanks!
