Nice game! I think I had a problem and it is that I was not able to load the second level if I don't go to the end of the level when the sun gets there.

Thank you very much for the rating and the comment! We have fixed it. Currently we don't have a game over screen, so it's difficult to understand when the game is finished...

Nice game! I found it rather hard to lose though. Not that much challenge. Otherwise very nice really liked the art! If ya want you can check out my game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/dodge-the-box

Would have liked to see some sort of obstacles or something to spice up the gameplay.

Ok, animation look nice but what is the aim of this game, running to the end and ... ?
(Got to lvl 5)

Thank you very much for the comments and ratings! You are right: more action is needed. Due to schedule issues we couldn't add more functionalities, although them are designed. May be for v 1.0!

We found a few minutes (it's 2 a.m. in Spain) and we added a "Game Over" screen.

Great game!! The art is fairly cute and the game itself has a big potential. Although I couldn't get a faster gain of energy, I enjoyed it a lot. Keep working on it!!!

Nice game mechanic and an interesting take on the theme. Art style works well with the game, player just needs a little more to do.

Fun little game, interesting idea. The graphics reminds me Loco Roco game from PSP. Adding some music would greatly improve mood of the game. Good Job!

Really rather cute! I agree with others though that it's much too easy, and boils down to keep on moving right. It'd be nice if the mountains, rather than just serving as the background, potentially block the sun's rays.

Thank! @everythingwasbees, yes that was the initial idea: cloud and mountains to block the sun! @theflyingkeyboard, thanks for the comment! We didn't noticed Loco Roco reference, but yes: we get to similar naive art! Thanks for the feedback!

Lovely entry!
I'm preeeetty sure I got the required energy level for the stage where I lost, so I guess there are a few bugs here and there, but it was a pretty pleasant experience overall. Definitely in line with the jam theme, and I loved the graphics and concept.

It's more of a relaxing follow-the-sun ride than a game though, which felt a bit weird but at the same time pretty cool. I agree that with more challenges and variations this would be a really addicting game, but it's enjoyable as it is.

Kudos!

Great artwork and animations! Really a stellar looking game. gameplay-wise it is a tad shallow, but that's ludum dare for you. I think this could be a clever game with some obstacles and audio work.

Good game dude! Is it normal that there are no sound? BTW to improve the graphics you could let the sun or the rays rotate on themself!
Keep up the good work! :)

Cute game! Very charming graphics particularly for the plant and the sun. Could be fun to see where you take this in your post-jam version.

Cool game! The graphics were amazing, and a great aesthetic! The gameplay was a bit repetitive, but other than that, great game!

I like the visuals they remind me of LocoRoco. Other then that I never really felt like I understood how to play or maybe I'm overthinking it? I held my mouse towards the right and the plant traveled until I lost at level 4.

Cute game, but there isn't much to do right now, just follow the sun with the mouse. It'd be cool with some moving obstacles or something you had to avoid, to force the player to make a decision or something like that. Also it really needs some bg music / sound effects, it'd add a lot to the game :)

Nice game! Cute art style

Music can add a lot to the mood of the game and a new challenges can significantly improve the game experience.

What is the final Pepe's destination? Atlantic coast, right (if it is in Spain)?

This is a really nice looking little game and I definitely enjoyed the graphics, although I think some variation between the levels could have made the game look a little bit more interesting. The gameplay was pretty simple and it works well for a demo of a game, but for a platformer it was fairly... flat. Had there been some obstacles, or enemies or maybe the sun could have been blocked by the clouds or the weather, the game would have been more exciting.

Now you're playing with photosynthesis (hop i spelled that one right XD) a cute little game

**Positive stuff :**
- Cute and simple graphics that have some charm
- Nice humor, that title pun XD
- Tight and responsive if unusual controls

**Negative stuff :**
- The complete lack of sound and music
- Not much else to do other than "go right"

With that said however it's a nice take on the theme with a good concept, this could be a good title on mobile with a bit of polish, it could use maybe a bit of platforming element to mix things up a bit and add more gameplay

Otherwise it is a neat little game, so good job :)

Art is cute, gameplay is simple, but… It's so simple and yet hard! I barely made it to the 4th level, and then I lose, even if I tried hard to follow the sun. A gameplay very very simple and yet hard, well, I was thinking that about my own game, but here I'm obviously beated! XD

It is a cute little game. Graphics are simple but well done. Nice artistic touch. Cute sounds and pieces of music would be as pleasant as useful for feedbacks and strengthening the ambiance.
The gameplay is imaginative and easy to grasp. It was a good idea to choose the mouse as a unique controller. But the negative counterpart is the gameplay is a bit too simple (even for a 72H made game) and I did not saw some challenge in it. It needs some extra elements (you present the game as a platformer, so maybe platform and some obstacles to go through in a funny way), and also sound and visual feedbacks to see more obviously when the plant is in danger. The game has some potential for iPhone, Android phones, and tablets, but with a deeper gameplay and extra features.

I agree with many of these in that the graphics are cute. I came from the itch.io page which is missing the how to play but thankfully they are listed here. :) Not sure if this is your first game ever or not but if it is then nicely done. If you wish to continue working with this project consider allowing WASD/Arrows to move (unless that defeats the mechanics of the game) and a sound effect to let you know when you are gathering power versus when you are not :)

Thanks for the comments! @markwolf, you are 100%, thanks for the feedback. We couldn't dedicate more thank 24 h due to personal reasons. Nevertheless, we enjoy the experience so much, we will repeat! @prodigalson, yes, it was our first game! We will take the WASD proposal into account for the after-jam session. Also, I will update instructions on the itch.io page. Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Graphics were good and game felt smooth. I agree with the WASD, as I didn't figure out how to move for a good 30 seconds. But I don't see glitches and it felt fun so overall, great job!
