The gameplay is quite limited but it's pretty fun to see the turrets aim and launch automatically.
It feels like you're a real enginer.
I'd love to have more content and thing to do though, but that's already great for a 72h work!
Congrats! :)
With a bit of polish that game would be real fun. :)
Minor points:
- The statistic fields at the end are white without any numbers in it.
- You move a bit slowly, especially jumping.
- I couldn't find out whether jumping into bullets from enemies actually did something (for example, reduce health).
- Your player sprite is quite cute, with the two people working together. :)
On the other hand, the music is exciting and I love the idea to make the player sprite two characters moving at once!
Shouldn't you turn off the audio ratings if the music is not made by you?
Despite its flaws it is a nice game, good work!
However the concept is pretty neat, and clearly there is an interesting game here, with the idea of being an engineer, frantically fixing thing the best way you can, that makes the game feel interesting, being a proxy repairer instead of the actual executor of things. Nice entry, and a potential good game, i liked my time with it, but it needs more polish to get to its true desirable state.

The music was decent though and its pace suited the game well. Also the graphics have a cute style to them which i like :)
• Pretty innovative game, I liked the context;
• Game needs a balance and some kind of tutorial, you can get confused at the first few tries;
• Good soundtrack, fits the gameplay;
• Overall an OK game, need some polish and balance (asap).
- Control. Currently, they are very floaty (and this would work for a level where you play on the moon, for example) but not making a jump and having to wait for my avatar(s?) to slowly float down to the ground for the next attempt was a bit grating. So just higher gravity, snappier controls would do wonders. Look at the gold-standard for great handling, Super Meat Boy, for inspiration :)
- Level design. Once I had figured how to reach the higher platforms, I just circled through until eventually getting hit by an enemy bullet. Maybe have all the elements a little smaller but more platform levels where I have a couple of options where to go.
- Sound effects. Some arcadey beeps and buzzes would work well together with the chiptuney music.
- Power ups: The longer you survive, the harder it gets. So well, so good. But having some rare pickups like a smart bomb or insta-health for all launchers would make the rounds play longer and give the player a breather now and then.
- Waves & variety: I would have liked if there was a certain number of UFOs per wave/level; say 10 in level 1, 20 in level 2 etc. Depending on how well I played, I can buy and place, say, one-time shield upgrades for individual launchers between waves, or selectively upgrade existing ones (more health, higher shooting frequency, rockets with splash damage, etc.)
- Feedback: I'd love to see how well I am doing, so a timer or score counter would have helped me gauge my performance. Currently, I use the music as my reference for how well I'm doing.
So in summary: Liked it, there's a lot of potential of making this a modern arcade classic by adding some variety, and snappier controls.
Scoring system should be fixed so I can know how well or poorly I do. The spawn rate is a little fast, and the controls could stand to be simplified. The WAD+Left Click is intuitive. If you're only using the mouse for one button, then just remap another key on the keyboard for it. I highly recommend spacebar or E for this would do better than Mouse Button 0. The gravity is VERY floaty and it made it hard to move around with any sense of urgency.
buggy. Add sounds effects, it's important for the mood and user experience ^^
