Made it to 26 before I finally missed a platform.

Cute Game! However, I wasn't sure how to maintain my stamina. How did the guy above me get to 26???

The combination of really floating jumping with what's essentially a ground pound (performed by pressing down) makes a simple climbing game actually feel pretty fun. A minor annoyance: sometimes you can go through the sides of platforms and sometimes you can't, which feels weird.

@john-li bananas appear every 15 platforms and give you full stamina. I got to 153 once ;s

It reminds me the Splatoon minigame in the load screen. I would complain for my difficulty to get the first banana, but when I got it and had the explosion, I became very happy hahahaha.

Nice small game! My first few runs I never ran into a banana so I felt like I died really quickly, so I feel like it was up to chance to see how far you can go than skill. Also because you get points for stepping on each platform I ended up prioritising each step than how high I could go.
Overall neat game in the limited amount of hours! With further polish it could be great.
Keep up the good work!

Fun small game! Reminds me of Icy Tower and my childhood. Enjoyed it! :)

The game is okay.
Gravity on the player is too low and mouse pointer does not exist to click on retry game.

Oh, nostalgia. Reminds me one game from my childhood. It was little bit hard for me, but I like it!

Very cute. I like what you were able to do, graphics wise, with the little time that you had. Like most of the comments suggest, the game could use some balancing as it seems to be purely luck if you can reach the bananas before you die. Maybe a progression system of bananas becoming further apart every time you reach one?

I'm glad you were able to get something in. I know how hard it is to feel motivated after coming to the party late. Good job!

Controls are way too floaty, so it was pretty difficult to control. Unfortunately that made it difficult to enjoy.

Simple, but really fun! For me the character and gravity is a little too slow and there is too little control. Also it would be nice if there was some music. Graphics is simple, but looks old school and I like it. It's a fun game with good mechanics.

Simple fun frustrating controls but not so frustrating as to distract. The randomness is random, and the first game I played I got maybe a score of 8 without seeing a single banana.

Its nice i got 18. There is just not enough bananas I think. Maybe the stamina should drain faster, but then there should be more bananas. I feel like it would be more fun that way. Well done!

For a game made in one day, that's quite cool ! I think you could make some other things to get, like maluses, or whatever, the game is actually really flat. But congrats ! Keep coding games !

Proves that looks aren't everything; I thought it was really cute! Considering the time invested, it was definitely enjoyable :) The controls are a bit clunky but still playable, and I agree with @furkanfs: more bananas and slightly faster stamina drain.

Cute and fun, but not a lot to it. I didn't find bananas in six playthroughs - maybe I was doing it wrong? Anyway, a complete game with menu and high scores, so good on that.

Oooooookay, it's fun and original, but i have problems with the controls.

However, very nice entry.

I reach just one banana. Fun game. Controls need some adjustments (move and jump). Fun and nice game for a late entry.

It is a little bit confusing that the link of the download it is called source code, but it is okay.

You need to adjust the velocity at least give it a limit, because it is quite strange when you don't stop accelerating in the air, also add more gravity to make the game look faster.

And also you need some music here.

Good job.

Nice job and props to you for making it in only 24 hours.

Made it to 16. :)

The "floatiness" of the character feels a bit weird, but it's manageable. It was a good idea to add a key to fall faster, it helped to balance the gravity.

The art is simple but effective.

Your take on the theme is "classic", but it's the kind of classic you're never really bored with. A good / fun / playable platform jumper is always enjoyable. Releasing a playable game is already a win, but If you get people to try to raise their highscores and play two or more playthrough, that's a total win. Especially in the contect of a LD where you ""have"" and want to try & review multiple games while polishing your own game / answering to reviews.

Two little bugs I noticed. Sometimes when the menu appears the mouse is still in a "locked state" and I have to press the Windows Key to be able to use it again. And after some landings I had to press space multiple times to jump.

As said before, you should clarify that your link contains both the source code AND a playable version of your game. As you can see on other games, sometimes devs forget to put a link, so better clarify than miss a potential player / reviewer.^^

I like this kind of game, however I think the jump is quite weird, the gravity is not enough powerful, otherwise, congrats for the work !

Cool to see icytower having a reputation haha.

The floatyness of the controls are a real deal breaker, it's so hard to move around. It gets in the way of a usual fast paced platformer.

Sometimes it doesn't register your jump input
Also you can get stuck on the sides of each platform which shouldn't happen.

Maybe you can fix the controls at some point because they're the heart and soul of such a game.

Music would have been nice, but it is still amazing how much you pulled off in such a time
