Dead Weight is a game where your goal is to find the ladder to advance to the next room.

Use arrow key or WASD to control your monster.

Locked doors can be opened by stepping on the corresponding pressure plate or dropping one of your limbs on top.

Eyeballs can also be place to provide you with stationary vision, however cannot activate pressure plates.

Careful, if you have your limbs detached you will loose blood and if you run out its game over.

Q retracts all your limbs and eyeballs back to your monster, if a limb passes over a pressure plate on the way to your monster it will activate it.

Once you have all your limbs re-attached you will begin healing.

Use R to restart level.

Really creative mechanic! It took me a bit to realize that I could use the magnetic limb reattachment to solve some puzzles. Overall, well designed game with unique gameplay. Nice work!

@mtanton thanks for the feedback. We were a bit worried that people wouldn't play the game long enough to discover that mechanic. Did you beat all 6 levels?

Agreed about that mechanic! That opens up the possibility for puzzle design.

Pretty good and stable game. Fog of war requires the player to explore to see what the level layout is, and each level is a unique puzzle to reach the goal which was nice. It also made use of all the game mechanics of leaving limbs, leaving eyes, and pulling dropped limbs to the player. Simple and good.

Interesting concept! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Y2UiyhFvqPg

Very good one, I cleared all levels.
Concept is excellent, my only suggestion would be to add more types of puzzles.

Awesome idea, I really enjoyed this game a lot. I think the fog of war was a tad excessive, but it worked to create some really interesting puzzles with your eyes and body parts. A few times I was thinking to myself "how in the world do I solve this?" and thankfully the game is intuitive enough that you get an idea, and can try it, and it can work. You did an awesome job

Awesome game! Just one tip - give the option to recover a single body part.

@lilkrit just out of curiosity was there a level that you thought this would have helped with?

@wowbagger Anywhere there there's more than one button to press. I would like to be able to leave the eye near to the door, but pick up other parts
