Top marks for innovation as it's a very clever mix! Enjoyed playing it, but would have liked it to get harder a little faster (more colours etc.). Well done!

Got 52.6k as max score. Yeah, the theme was point on and you actually managed to make this combination work very well. The result is a quite relaxing and fun game.

Good job!

@WongKongPhooey I've had problems balancing games before and they've always come out harder. Definitely think I went too far the other way this time :D

I got 16400 points. Took 2 minutes to figure out why it cut my worm to smaller, but once the logic become clear, the length of the worm could be increased... and then the fun began...

I really like to make combos in this game! I just hope you could start the game from a higher level to get in the action faster :)

This game is a wonderful mashup of two seemingly simple mechanics which makes for some surprisingly deep gameplay. When I realized that zigzagging the snake body against itself could trigger combos, that changed everything. It's a really good example of taking two incompatible genres: a game where you want to collect and get bigger, but not run into yourself; and one where you need to collect and combine. Making the player consider the order and positioning of the bits they pick up is a quite refreshing update to the classic snake formula. Great job!

I've scored 56k and wasn't even bored. Simple and original idea, nice realization. Good job!
By the way I've also made a snake game. I think we should find our snake-developing brothers/sisters and organize anonymous club of snake-developers :)

Neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQphYmNNYE4

Cool that you could actually match up by going beside yourself. if i could advice one thing is make it a bit more faster as it felt very slow to me but good result in any case

Nice take on the theme, felt the audio was too repetitive but the gameplay was brillant. Good work!

Very nice. My only problem is the game is too easy for a long time at start, then by the time you reach higher level and die you get all the way back to a long and easy game. GJ on sound and graphics.

That's exactly the kind of concepts I wanted to see with this theme!

Really simple but really well done! The same for the visuals and sounds, it just works perfectly fine together!

Really cool entre, congratulations :)

Good combination of genres, which I like both of them.
It was a bit difficult to understand how to build up combos, couldn't really get how to do that since getting three of the same just collapses. But then I read that you could match up against your own tail, which makes this game much more interesting in its current form :)
Great entry with simple but effective music and graphics.

really like the combo stuff on this and the high pressure fail from snake. Wonderful!
