Mother Earth's blues by louckousse

[raw]
made by louckousse for LD 40 (JAM)

Based on an idea from Paulloz

The kind Mother Earth suffers because humans dry out her resources. She must get rid of them. You have 5 natural weapons at your disposal to do so. Each one will strike randomly on the earth when you decide to. Obviously, each weapon have a reload time.

To use a weapon just click on the red stain.

Due to a lack of skill and time my game lack of feedback on action. I'll try to add these after the rating end. I want to be judged on these three days of work.

Nice commentary on the world and how we use the natural resources of the earth; so a good link with the theme. The music conjured up feelings of melancholy which also fits the theme of the game. I think that the gameplay was very simplistic and I didn't quite get enough feedback from the game about whether my actions were good or bad.

I like the art, music, and the concept. It's a cool game, but there's not much gameplay. The way it connects with the theme is cool: "Humans, the more you have, the worse it is".

I liked the soundttrack and the graphics. You could have explained the controls better and i missed animations for the catastophes :)

I don't know, there isn't much gameplay?

The art and music are cool, the game runs fine.

Art and music in nice. Regarding the gameplay I'm not sure, there wasn't enough feedback to know what you were doing. This would need a bit more refinement and then it could be an interesting game I think.

Thank you all for your comment. This is my first game and first jam so i'm pretty pleased to see people kind of enjoying my work.
I think it miss some visual feedback too, I was short on time and didn't find a way to integrate it in time.

Following your remarks I added a bit of information in the description.

Nice atmosphere, though there doesn't seem to be gameplay at the moment.

Good idea, but the result is basically a "hit when ready", with no any way of challenge nor strategy, except wait before use a weapon. Maybe with some more control, it would be challenging, like "the more you wait before using it, the more the volcano will kill people, exponentially" - wich would leads on a strategy like "how much can I wait for better damage, without too much growing". Besides, arts are good, wich helps a lot for the mood.
