I'm writing this as I'm wandering around the fishing pole cave and can't find the way out. I wonder if I'll ever see the light of day again. I want to give up but I can't because this game reminds me of Zelda 2 and no matter how much people bash it, I still love it. See, even the main character looks kinda familiar...\n\n![bagu.gif](\/\/\/raw\/1e4\/3\/z\/466c.gif)\n\nSo, I made it out. Took a lot longer than I'd like to admit. Kinda dreading the idea of entering the cave next to that previous one. Someone give me breadcrumbs...\n\nOkay, that was a lot easier. I kept a mental note of where the exit was at all times. This might be a fine point to break the 4th wall and discuss game mechanics. One in particular and that is allowing to skip\/fastforward the speech texts. So many \"you looked all arounds\".\n\nSo some dude just thanked me for something and gave me a toch. Sweet, that would have been nice when I was stuck on that stupid dark cave. Anyways, was that the laundry dude? I don't think I found his loundry...\n\nAnother cave! Piece of cake with the torch. Seems to be empty though. Maybe I need to find something else first...\n\nStrange feeling of deja vu. Another random person just thanked me for nothing and gave me a torch which I already had. Thanks for nothing, grey dude!\n\nSeriously pink girl? You too...\n\n---\n\nSo I'm officially giving up now. Dunno what grand adventures I missed. Loved and hated it at the same time. World could have been smaller since it was mostly empty anyway. Would have fit the theme better also...\n ","likes":3,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"pi_pi3","author_uid":"1000320","time":"2017-05-16T17:43:13Z","epoch":1494956593,"modified":1494956593,"text":"As some others have mentioned, the graphics are literally eye-hurting. And after walking for what felt like ages, I only found the wizard dude, two laundry-people next to each toher and two huts. You say that there are 16 items and who knows how many people, but the game doesn't try to make the player want to look for them. Imo the map is too big for anyone to be willing to walk for an hour to find just 3 items. I think this game would've been better with a tight map that had everything within, say, a 100 block radius or less, possibly with multiple levels (dungeons, caves, etc.). Now, I don't have anything against exploration. Quite contrary. But let's see how Skyrim nailed exploration. It had a living ecosystem everywhere. I'm not saying you should make Skyrim in Ludum Dare, I'm just saying the world lacks life, i.e it doesn't have depth","likes":2,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Connor McGrory","author_uid":"1013660","time":"2017-05-16T17:54:21Z","epoch":1494957261,"modified":1494957261,"text":"cool game! but the key guy gave me a torch when I already had one :\/ I loved the retro feel and the music fit well!","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"csanyk","author_uid":"1004118","time":"2017-05-17T03:59:59Z","epoch":1494993599,"modified":1494993599,"text":"This world is actually kinda big...\n\nI explored a lot, and talked to two overworld people, found things for them, and they gave me two torches. The pink girl who is hungry was hard to talk to because she kept moving so fast, which was annoying. \n\nIt seemed like the world was mostly empty, and there wasn't enough to do, or maybe it was just not obvious enough for me to find it. I think designing the world map to make things a bit closer together and more obviously connected would have been helpful.\n\nOverall the engine is pretty nicely done, and this could have potential if you wanted to add more to it and polish it more.
