Play as an android with limited power fending off dangerous peers.

Laser turrets, rock'em sock'em robots, and bomb laying drones all threaten your existence - and you only have 12 moves (plus whatever you can steal from them) to defeat them.

For my second time around the jam, this game achieves more, but is still not very fun or finished. I'm still glad I made it and look forward to next time.

Controls

  • wasd to move
  • shift + wasd to place a bomb in that direction
  • walk into an enemy to sap their power
  • . (period) to do nothing and lose some power
  • escape to quit

Created with LOVE2D, so even linux folk can play with the source .love.

An interesting game concept that could lead to a fun little time waster. I could see this being some sort of mobile app. One thing that could definitely be improved though is the transition between states. Even small animations or tweens would help a lot in letting the player see what's happening, rather than having to piece together the delta manually after each movement.

Aw why did you opt out of graphics? I think they really fit this game (or did you use pre-made assets?). Anyway I enjoyed it!

@silkworm-sweatshop: Since it's just ansi text and I didn't make the font, I thought it would be better to opt out.

Big fan of the minimalist graphical style, agree that they fit the game well. I didn't actually realize I could drop bombs - my fault for not reading the description till after playing, but you may want to note it in the game somewhere. I also enjoyed the concept of stealing moves - felt very sneaky. Overall interesting game, nice work!

Quite a fun concept, and a good visual style! :grin: I felt like the difficultly curve going into the last level was a bit steep, I hadn't actually properly learnt how the enemies behave before reaching that level as all of the previous ones had been so easy, but it certainly never felt impossible or unfair. Bonus points for
using Love2D, I've always been fond of lua! Well done on your second Jam!
