Story

An Enemy Team has hijacked a Basketball Arena and stolen The League's most valuable weapon, Armagedunk. It's up to Basketball Legend, Sneak, to disable the weapon and save the day!

Controls

  • WASD/Arrow Keys - Movement
  • Spacebar - Interact/Advance dialogue

Notes

This was our first Ludum Dare in 2 years, so a bit of rust had to come off for everything from Unity to Aseprite.

The game ended up lacking some of the gameplay features we wanted to add, such as pathfinding to your location on alert, some inventory items, lasers that only show via deodorant spray (code implemented, no time to implement in level), etc. The levels were thrown together in a bit of a rush. Plus, we only had 36-48 hours instead of the full 72. Despite that, we had a lot of fun creating it.

The back story was great. It really did give that metal gear feel. The gameplay itself was a little lacking. It wasn't the amount of content that was the issue. That final dunk at the end, I almost gave up because I wasn't sure what to do, and I guess it really was supposed to be a hail-mary move or something. Also, the rfid band, still not sure what it was for, I assume it was to open the exit door for the area. That said, stealth games are hard to get right, so I still recognize the amount of effort put into this.

Great dialog. Reminds me of the old MGS games.

Really fun story  . The things that I would touch would be the movement speed of the main player and maybe check the collision. Multiple times I tried to go some paths that failed and get me caught because of the tip of the head letting me stuck.

The game was quite interesting, and the backstory was pretty well done, especially for a Ludum dare entry.

The steahlth mechanic didn't work that well, I think, as the bar was raised really slow and you could get away with a lot. But that's fine, I guess that still took quite some work to get that done ;) And I really liked the effort put into the background story. The largest one I have seen untill now around here!

Nice job

The duality between the serious black ops mission and the basketball layer work well, although the stealth gameplay could be improved, maybe giving more feedback to the player about the scenario (more camera tricks and options to read the environment), maybe more complex and readable enemies, a lot of times I got spotted by an enemy and right after that another two of them approached me quickly making me lose the game almost instantaneously. The dialogue could be also a little bit more dynamic, one pretty simple hit that would help a lot is making the colors of the text changes according to which one of them is speaking.

Keep up the nice work!

An interesting take on the stealth genre! The story/dialogue is great. I thought the ending part about traveling was hilarious. The stealth mechanic could use a bit of work (I found I was either getting spotted really quickly or able to get away with too much) but that's something that can be ironed out post jam. I wasn't sure how to finesse the ending part so after failing on my first attempt I just went for it haha good work guys!

Love the Metal Gear influence and the codec dialogues. It was hard to avoid the enemies in the second room, but luckily the game is pretty forgiving about getting seen. The player's collider could definitely be smaller though. Good job!
