Top score 9108 distance. You probably blew that away, but I was feeling pretty good about it... the 4-button controls thing was warping my brain HARD. In the end my strategy was to play with two hands, and only think about three lanes. I would stay in lane 2 in good times, and know what fingers moved to lanes 1 or 3 as my outs. Wowzers. I mean, the first few times I played I got wrecked real hard, real fast! The blobs being unable to get hit by the beam was critical to the balance, so great call there.

This looks really nice, and has a tight feel and compelling difficulty -- nice work! I remember your old LD game IceMan, which was also super-slick, tight, and tough.

One thing though, does this game have audio? I tried the HTML5 build in both chrome and firefox, but I didn't hear any sound. A shame because if it does have sound like IceMan did, then I missed out big time.

Great job! You're a master of the slick tough action-reflex game.

This was really fun. The quick play sessions make it really easy to learn the game's mechanics without feeling overly punished. The four-lane control scheme was a tough one to wrangle. Rewiring my mental map of the keys for what is left and right was surprisingly tough! The aesthetic is cohesive and look beautiful. (I love that enemy death animation into the pentagram)

@pkenney Unfortunately, there is no audio! We did not work with the collaborator who usually does our sound this time, and wound up not getting any into the game in time.

The graphics look amazing and I really liked the challenge that the controls brought. I feel like some audio would've completed the mood (maybe with some additions of rhythmic elements to the levels). Overall a nice tight package which makes me want to play some more.

This is really dang good. Four button gameplay seemed weird at first, then deep into the game I was obsessed with mastering the style. Probably one of the best games I've played so far in this jam.

oh congratulation! Nice art! Can I follow it also on indiexpo? Do you have also a page there? This looks great! I looked for the games that used the #LDJAM but I don't find yours. So good luck!! I will hope to make a video about it!

Loved everything about it. The controls were kinda tricky for me, I think I would prefer wasd or arrow keys to move. Nice entry though!

Wow. This was really good. The controls were really hard to learn, but in a good way. Like someone mentioned earlier, getting my brain to re-learn what those keys did was tough. Add some sound to this and you have a really polished experience here! Very well done.

Graphics and design are awesome! :D One of the best I've seen. Controls are difficult to learn at first, but once you've played a couple of games you get used to it :) What do you think about giving the option to teleport with arrows as well as ASDF? Great job!

Now this is what I call polish. I was literally going, "oh, whoa, shit, c'mon". Add some sounds and I can see myself spending hours on this.

This is really cool! Love the graphics. Takes a bit to get used to the 4 tracks, but that's part of the fun. Good job.

Oh wow, this is definitely amazing. Awesome art and parallax, it really gave a cool depth.

The controls are hard, but this is actually what makes the game fun and I really like it.

The only con I cound find here is the lack of audio haha.

TL;DR: My best score is 3195 and noone can dethrone me.

give a keybinding option, the game is fantastic other than that

@rankaquion Yeah, that was definitely on my mind while programming the game! Unfortunately there were just so many things we didn't have time for (like sound)

@carlotaesca We considered that, but it would make teleporting across two rows instantly impossible, which is needed for some patterns (and a better experience once you acclimate to the controls)

Very cool gameplay with the four keys, challenging and fun to play, but I'm terrible at it lol. Too bad it has no sound, because it would make a very complete game with it.

Having a music and even simple sfx would help.
I think it is really original and the art style is really good.

The artwork is really really sweet. I love the multi-layered parallax walls, very well done. The gameplay is a cool idea reminds me of guitar hero mixed with a shoot 'em up. Unfortunately, it's way too hard for me.

After failing before 1000 forever, I finally found a strategy for the keys. Mostly used only two of them lol. 3388 is my best. It sure was going fast! Was the any benefit to killing things? (points or something?)

Great game. I'm really bad at it! lol. The teleportation instead of movement is a nice touch, it takes a bit to get used to and it messes with my mind, which I enjoy. The art was fantastic as well. I can see a lot of potential with added sound and a heavy metal track or something.

Nice game! hard but with a sweet learning curve, forcing you to dodge instead of clicking on. :o
Maybe adding a graze like system would recompense player who take risk (like if you touch an ennemi with the flame of your ship you win some point or adventage).
In the first part of the game it would reward player who want face hards patern more than just dodging them.
Maybe a possibility to win life would be cool to :)

Wow, I had to rewire my brain to get a hold of the movement scheme. It was a lot of fun and had a great aesthetic. Smooth as butter. I would have appreciated some sound effects or some chiptune-metal soundtrack. Great work!

This new gameplay is cool but hard to get used to, really nice and addictive game ;) would love some chiptune above that :D

Nice graphics, challenging game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4a6KN4k75w
