Welcome to the virtual world of VRn't, where the lines between the real and the fantastic are blurred, if only slightly.

You control a humble gamer with a heart of gold and an expensive VR rig. Help him defeat ninjas in the digital dojo, and PLEASE mind the furniture.

We have a winner here. This game is sooo brilliantly executed. Sure, it isn't the world' s greatest, I wouldn't even call it that special in gameplay.

But, the mood of the game is brilliant. All the little details of things getting destroyed...

We had a good laugh here!

This is a work of art.

The actual hitboxes and fighting mechanics weren't perfect, but who cares? I tripped on a roomba and was slain by ninjas at the SAME TIME!

Thanks for the game!

This game is awesome and can relate. I ones smashed a lamp and very close to smashing my tv too :-D
Anyhow, I really liked the game, smashing everything in my way stabbing a bird in my way. Pretty funny :-D
Great job :-)

Hahaha this is a great mini-game! Graphics & sounds we're on point! The actual hitboxes were a bit iffy but that doesn't change the fact that this is an awesome, well-thought out game.

One of the more fun games i've seen as of now, nice job. Nothing to complain about except maybe if there was some sort of score tracker? like a difference between damages and points in game? Anyways, nice!

Cool and funny idea, well implemented too, who doesn't love the classic "Your Living Room" genre 😁. I especially like the soundeffects of the player and the ninjas 😄

Lmao really funny idea, lack of visual feedback (hit, score..), we dont look at our score or lives; cool soundeffects (^: Liked it !

This is a really funny idea, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be TRYING to cause damage or avoid it, but it was fun either way. Nice job! If you want to check out our game you can play it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/dating-sim-hell

@cole-and-jordan-studios Thank you for the comments. We decided it was more fun for the user to choose whether they wanted to try to destroy the room or not. It's fun to destroy the room and it's fun (and harder) to try to do as little damage as possible.

This is a super funny game, it really keys into the best part about VR which REALLY IS bumping into objects and then laughing. A super interesting tidbit that I loved is that both the upper and lower areas are lethal and that was a fun thing to keep track of.
Good game!

I was about to point out that the game is a bit light on mechanics... and then the Roomba showed up:P I mean, the game is still a bit light gameplay wise but everything else is pretty much spot on - especially how innovative Vrn't is and how brilliantly it uses the theme of the jam. Also, you've managed to make the game extremely funny witch just the title and the game mechanics. Great job!

Great use of a challenging theme. It gets hectic quickly, which was great. The music was great, how'd you do it?

@flukeshot Hey, I just used FL Studio to compose. The main soundfont I used was SGM 2.01, it has a lot of nice instruments in it. For the gameplay track I downloaded a Taiko Drum vst and told our artist to yell ninja sounds into a microphone.

That game was ridiculously well polished for a game jam. The audio, the graphics, and the control feel were all amazing, and I'm insanely jealous with what you guys managed to pull off in the time frame. If you're planning on doing anything else with it, I'd love to see some special moves: dragons, and fireballs, and incredible effects in VR; coupled with more flailing irl

Hahaha fascinating game!

Blame the jam time schedule, but the hitbox for the real-life weapon seemed the same size as the virtual one. I guess it makes sense, but the animations don't reflect that. Just a minor nitpick!

I got to 11 like 3 times before giving up, roomba OP.

The audio was really good, and it's a solid, fun game, although pretty simple. You scoped it well for a jam. Well done!

Hahaha, that was delightful. Poor bird. Great take on the theme, and oh so topical. Like @japes said this felt perfectly scoped for the compo; not an easy thing to pull off. Well done!

This is a super funny game. The sounds and the music is super well made, and it fits the games visuals very well. The gameplay idea is super funny, but I would have liked if there was happening more in the VR part of the gameplay. Overall a super well made LD game. Well done.

I’m not sure if you were able to see it, but I played your game on my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames tonight.

Such a fun little game that tries to capture what it is like to own a VR headset. I can say that with boundaries I have never hurt any of my furniture.

Thanks for sharing your project.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.

I may be dumb, but I'm struggling to understand the connection to the theme.

The game is super challenging -- I tried many times but never found out if there's an obstacle past the vacuum cleaner. Very solid art. :) Amusing visual effects and great work with the level damage!

@gafblizzard The original base idea we had for the theme was 3rd person VR. Our idea works with the theme if you consider VR a genre. It may be trying to put a square block in a circle hole but I think we managed to shove it through. There are no bottom obstacles besides the roomba and the bird. Originally we had an old lady too but she was cut due to lack of time. Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed our game.
