Try and get yourself to the sacrificial altar without the forces of good converting you...

The game is a bit light on content, but is fairly functional. Let me know what you think!

Hey there! During my first run, when I got turned into a priest I can just kept playing, unsure if it was the expected behvavior. So I just went as a priest to the altar and became that shady guy again, by touching it. And then I got stuck on the "Start the Sacrifice!" thing, and nothing happened, even though I pressed spacebar as you mentioned in the instructions.

Then, on my second run (I had to reload the itch.io page), it worked properly. I was going back to the start whenever I was hit by the good guys.

The things that I liked the most: the level design MECHANICS (not the way you placed them, but the ideas behind each obstacle), the music and the art of the priests.

What I disliked the most:
- I had to go back to the very start at every failure. It's not a big deal, specially because its a short game.
- On the second floor, there's a specially evil jump you have to do. It felt really out of place, because the other parts were designed more forgivenly (is that a word?)

That's it! Congratulations on the entry, being able to complete a compo is crazy and you deserve praise for that. Cheers!

I really dig the way you took the theme literally. The music and graphics are excellent.

This is just all around a great entry!

@glimaleite Thanks for the feedback! Interesting, that first thing is definitely not supposed to happen!

Level design is definitely a weak point, I didn't really leave myself enough time so it was very much thrown together and could definitely do with some tweaking.

The art and the sounds, are very very nice. The game felt quite difficult, but I guess it meant to be so. The only thing is I encountred some bugs, where I converted to the cleric and could continue with the game going intact. Apparts of that, was quite fun.

Great game, I definitely like the mood (graphics and sounds are amazing) and the concept, plus I like the kind of games that you can only go through with trials and errors.
Now their seems to be a mix-up with the commands, as the ones indicated here are not the same as the one wrote on the web version, but it's easy enough to get it right.
Well done!

That was a lot of fun. The art and audio were great and everything ran well.

I found that the game was a little frustrating early on. The fact that the priests can convert you even when their back is to you was annoying. The traps, however, were brilliant (crosses hanging from the ceiling and holy water).

The music and artwork do a good job so setting the mood.

The overall game play is good, but you have to be very precise to make the jumps over the priests. It would be great if their range was slightly smaller to be more forgiving.

Very challenging, I spend 20 minutes trying to beat the level. The art and sounds are awesome, very detailed.

Quite a hard game sometimes the ceilings felt a bit low making it hard to jump over priests, the concept, art and audio was really good though still an enjoyable game.

Nice style! Having to redo the first screen or two gets really frustrating, I had to give up before completing the third.

Easily the best death animation I've seen this competition!

Very polished game, I'm impressed by your art style, animations and music (the music was really cool!) Gameplay was more classical but still a nice approach of the theme. Well done!

This game has an awesome mood. The graphics and audio go really well together. The rock guitar is so simple but effective. The platforming mechanics were pretty good, especially compared to some others I've seen in LD. I'm glad @glimaleite pointed out the especially difficult jump on the second screen, because I totally thought the same. Overall, the game is one of my tops so far!

It's very fun and the sound it's great for a jam. It could be most well fitted into the theme, but it's a nice game.

Haha, distorted guitars as you try to dodge a world full of priests, crosses, shining bibles, holy water. That scores high in the Humor category for me =) I didn't quiet understand what triggered the priests to hold up the cross to convert you from a distance. Liked the graphics, audio, and idea. Nice work!

This is really polished and fun to play -- great job!

I really struggled with the first jump between the cross and the bible on the third screen. I tried a few times, but eventually had to give up. I agree with @glimaleite that it would have been less frustrating to start over from the beginning of each screen instead of from the level; I probably would have given it a few more attempts.

I found this too difficult. It reminded my of Rick Dangerous-style level design where there was no way to know you would get stabbed by spikes until they stabbed you - which makes you blame the game, and not yourself.

Even so, I played it for a long time - because the guitars and awesome graphics kept me coming back for more!

Looks and sounds great! It's a bit too difficult though, it's not really clear how close you can get to the priests.
