What remains of Project 424 [HTC Vive Only] by Yaroslav Kravtsov
This is a horror game without screamers. All threats visible from a long distance and can be noticed by sound. To play this game you should have HTC Vive. Maybe it can be played on Oculus, but I have no opportunity to test it.

Each Ludum Dare I have a goal for my self to try something new. New game designs, new algorithms, new technology. In this time I had an opportunity to work with HTC Vive hardware. So I decided to make my first VR game. I have no wish to compete with other participants. My plan is to use LD as a motivation kick.
In the result, I'm happy. I made VR game that I have fun to play. It's quite challenging even for me, but after 3 days of playtesting I can guarantee that game can be beaten.
Almost all 3D models and textures I get from Unity Asset Store (some of them free, some of them paid). Most of the sounds from FreeSound.org. But the whole level was assembled by me from scratch and there a lot of places to walk (without gameplay rewards, unfortunately). For the VR locomotion I used scripts from Asset Store. After playing different games I came to a conclusion that arm swinging is the best solution to locomotion after teleporting. But teleporting ruins immersion, what is the main feature of VR technology.
I recommend you to launch the game on Ultra setting. There no heavy effects and game are pretty optimized. I have no issues with fps on GTX 1060 and i5-7600K. And I can't guarantee that everything will look good on lower settings.

-like incobalt said, it needs to be in the jam if you used any pre-made assets
-You had to make the game in 48 hours (72 for the jam) to put it up
-Next time, I don't suggest making a VR game for this jam, as not many people have a headset
Are you aware that this is a game jam? There is a time window to make the game, a theme to make the game around, and a set of rules. This is NOT a game uploading site like itch.io or steam.
Simone, I haven't Oculus to make a port for it. Probably, it can work on Oculus just from the box. But there is no reason to port this game to the regular first-person shooter for monitors. It is possible and not hard, but all idea was to make VR experience.
I am able to see the game, but I spawn in the ground and the game doesn't seem to recognize my touch controllers, so I can't really do anything :/
Cataractar, you are the first person who gave me feedback. Thank you! Glad to hear that it is too easy not just for me. It is hard to make a game that you can't playtest on any random person before submit.
I would classify it as some sort of "light horror" (especially from the unsettling sounds the things were doing and the amount of darkness)... VR is the platform I wouldn't want to play this kind of game ;)
Very nice job, If I were able to play it would have been probably a 5/5 .
Good luck with the next LD, maybe in a bit of time I'll get a Vive, too :D
