It's not genocide if it's for the good. by Baesama

made by Baesama for LD 42 (JAM)

The world is in overpopulation. You have been chosen to decide who will live and who will die for the sake of Earth. For that, you just have to choose and push a button. But be careful, find the right middle between killing and saving people are you will lose.

Use the Left and Right Arrow to chose the button you want to push.

It's a solo project to see what I am capable of. Hope you will have some fun :)

Totally in love with the audio, I liked the SFX, the confetti, explosions and your laugh. It's a bit too random and if we are great mathematician (what I'm not) there's no way we can lose. Overall it's a good entry, congratulation.

(your studio sounds familiar btw)

I really like this idea, and it's very interesting to reduce the interaction to only two options at any point. I couldn't really understand the numbers, though. They didn't seem to reflect what I was doing. I suggest you look at Reigns, which also limits interaction to 2 options, but there is a lot more balancing that the player needs to do there, which makes the game more interesting and challenging. I also think you could tone down the 'kill' sound effect, because it's a little bit overwhelming. Another great tip for audio is to very slightly randomise the pitch of the Audio Source each time you play it, so that the sound of the game is a little more textured and less repetitive. But well done on your first solo jam! I am a student too, and doing jams like this helps a lot with learning.
