Energy Grid by Aaron McLeod
This is a game about resource management. We need 12 solar power plants to sustain the city. Start off with coal and tech up to keep the energy demands at bay (the ever reducing bar at the top right), while saving what resources you can in order to tech and produce more refineries.
To build a coal mine, refinery, etc.:
- Select a tile
- Press build
After building the first one, the option to upgrade will appear.
Selling 10 resources helps refill a part of the energy bar.

@goldranger glad you enjoyed it. And yeah i don't exactly stop the systems from running once the game ends. I wish i had time to get a proper end state in :).
Either way, the game is great as it is. I'm just tossing around ideas that might make it better. Thanks for making it.
Gameplay: It's a shame placement didn't seem to matter, so there wasn't much point to having a grid. Without that, there wasn't much in terms of gameplay mechanics, just click until you get the next thing, click, click, done.
Other: I liked the music, always like it when people make the effort there!
Yeah when I started the game ,i just had it kill the app when running out of power. Sadly i didnt get time to put a lose screen in. Thanks for checking it out though.
@steve-johnson thanks steve. Yeah i've fixed the build button, i just haven't cut a release for it. Wasnt' sure if it's too late or not to ship bug fix releases. I wish i could have made the grid smarter on where you place it, get bonuses for types closer together, implement a pollution meter. It might be a game I continue to add to after the fact.
I like building things, but there didn't seem to be much of a game here... a little bit of a challenge to click quick enough at the beginning, but then got uninteresting. Nice that it was short and had an ending though!
One recommendation is to try to make the beginning more easy, I had a hard time setting up some sort of sustainable base.

I didn't understand why there was different types of resources. Also other that the energy cost, there was no limit to what you could build, maybe increase the energy consumption for each building?
The building controls are kind of clunky - selecting a square and then clicking build is inefficient, which is kind of annoying when you have to build a few things at the beginning of the game in order to avoid losing, because it's hard to build everything fast enough.
As it currently stands, the game is pretty easy - build a bunch of coal things while spamming the "sell energy" button, and then upgrade to oil, and from there on it's so easy to get energy that the game only lasts about one more minute.
