NOT SO ARIGATO MR. ROBOTO by Avocadosan

[raw]
made by Avocadosan for LD 43 (JAM)

Your name: Mr. Roboto.

Your mission: Deliver milkshake to your owner, the mighty Teedus!

But... what's this? Your battery is running low! And you don't know where your charger is! You must find the tablet that controls your modules and find four pieces to build yourself a charger, but you must do it quick, before Teedus realizes that you didn't take proper care of yourself...

DISCLAIMER: We put in a screamer on the game because we thought it was kinda funny given the context of the character Teedus; in order to achieve the screamer, turn off all modules at once when you get your tablet.

Very interesting game! I liked the tablet system for changing the room.

I like the idea of turning off modules it's quite clever. Also the little "cinematic" part of the game was a nice touch. I felt like navigating the room was kinda difficult though.

The Timer seems to be really short. Which is a shame because there is so much to see in your world! With the nonskippable intro scene I sadly couldn't be bothered to try till I beat the game. But I saw a lot and it was totally worth it! Graphics are insane!

Is there any reason you opted out of Humor? Because I would have rated you highly!

@purrseus Thanks! We considered about adding something to skip the intro but it was already too late to add it :( .

The opt out was most certainly a mistake! We didn't realize we've opted out until you mentioned it D: You should be able to rate the Humor now!

Thanks for playing our game, we really appreciate it! <3

This had some very stylish presentation and once I had repeated the intro a few times I finally realized that Teedus was not a completely random character. I enjoy room escape games although I don't actually understand how I solved the puzzle in the end. On a second playthrough the state of the lights doesn't get reset which produced some bugs, and I think(?) there were more issues related to the state of modules - not every scene presented itself the same way with the same settings. As you can imagine I was just clicking around a lot and hotspot hunting to get through it.

@triplefox Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Yes! Tidus from FFX is an inside joke for us, we always try to add him in every Jam game we make! This time we decided to combine him with Al from Toy Story 2... I don't even know how we came up with that.

We were unaware of those bugs before we published the game; thank you for letting us know!

We appreciate a lot your feedback! Thanks a lot for leaving a comment and for playing our game!

This was great! I was quite confused through the playthrough, but great nonetheless!
My confusion came from not being quite sure how I could use the modules. I didn't know when I should use them.
The art was *really* good, and I was in a scared rush most of my playthrough. I probably shouldn't have disabled all of the modules first thing.

Great game, loved the humour. The screamer was great, but after all those warnings I was hoping it would be louder.

My main criticism is that a lot of the clickable things didn't change the mouse cursor when moused over, which meant I sometimes resorted to clicking anything and everything in a rather aimless fashion.

Really enjoyable experience overall. Great work!

First of, the name attracted me most and I love point and click games (I'm a terrible player). Rather than graphics quality, art style felt consistent and that's what really matters. Font fits the titles but there could have been a better, understandable choice for long texts and instructions. Sorry that I can't give helpful comment on play because I'm actually terrible at playing games and I only got to see Teedus angry.. :'D Good work!

@evbo Thank you for playing our game! The screamer was way louder before we published the game, but when we were testing with a small amount of people, a lot of them complained about the screamer being way too loud (and that we didn't warned them about it  ) so we decided to tone it down a little bit.

We should've thought about changing the cursor now that you mention it, I think it would've make a lot better the navigation.

Thanks for playing our game and for leaving feedback! It means a lot to us!

JAJAJA good game brothers, I liked a lot, above all I love the design and mechanics. Good audio work and programming, to be 72 hours I think it's a good job. This game I liked more than the crap of sonic force.

Hey, hope this was a great jam to your team !
I'm not a big player on point and clicks so take this with a grain of salt, but in had difficulty navigating the different screens. also i tried shutting down the lights from the bed-screen but i was sad to find in couldn't D:.
On another note, i loved the art and the "RealChecker (c)" ideas, with no bugs or crash.
for a game made in 72 hours, i would eagerly say that its great succes of a jam!
see ya in the next one :D

Clever mechanics! Perhaps some more feedback would be nice, to know when something is interactable or not

Neat story, found interactions difficult. I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/8gcHVPkzZQo
