made by Dast99 for LD 39 (JAM)

The aim of this 2D arcade style game is to bring your space craft down onto a landing pad on a strange planet before you run out of power. This is a challenging doodle art style game with a unique spin on 2D and is meant to convey an ominous feeling to the player through the theme of "Running out of Power". Enjoy! :grinning: P.S. Please extract in order to run :)

The game was alright. I found an interesting glitch. If you die right away, and spam the space bar, then hit "play again", it locks you in the mid point of a level. It sticks as a loop.

At first I had a very hard time figuring out how to play. The graphics are alright. The environmental graphics were better than the ships. For the ships if you made it look like a "doodle" like how the environment then the graphics would look MUCH more uniform.

Overall it's an alright game.

The gameplay is simple and it works. The art is the standout part from this game. I do find the rotation functionality rather not very useful though

I liked the art. Landing the ship was a little easy. Putting a limit on the max horizontal speed when landing could help and give more use for rotating.

Agree with others that the art is nice, but isn't very cohesive. I am a fan of hand drawn art, but I feel the planet hit on the style while everything else did not match up.
In terms of game play, I think everything could use some more development. The gravity/thrust mechanic is there, but it would be nice to see it a bit less "floaty" and some more obstacles to dodge, from above as well as below. The landing pad gives a goal for the player, but--just to brainstorm--perhaps landing pads give more fuel to keep going, so it is more of an infinite runner. As it stands now the game can be grokked fairly quickly. Thank you!

Nice game, thanks for sharing. I like how the music make you anxious when the fuel is low :)

Nice game . The **art is very nice**, but it's **a bit too easy to land the ship**. Thanks for sharing.

The game is well programmed as I haven't found any bugs. Which is good because I test my brothers game and no matter how hard he tries, I will break it. The art has a nice feel to it although I can't get a good idea of what the ship looks like. Also, I am not sure if its just me but I had no idea what to do for the first few times. I liked the music although it got kind of repetitive. Overall, pretty nice for a three man production.

Nice game! I like the simplistic yet stimulating art style. It was however hard for me to understand that I did infact land correctly on the landing zone, there where no real indikation that I did a proper landing(other then the text). Thought I crashed on the landing pad first :P Though after actually reading the text i realised that I actually landed.

The music change when you are less than 25% is cool. Definitely a hard game.

The best part of this is the circle level design. I've thought about using it myself! Great work there. The art really is not so bad. its consistent enough for a jam. the main circle of the planet could have been higher res. The ship tilt was interesting... if you want to crash. the gravity was too intense. The landing pad could have really used some type of indicator. It is the games goal right? Is the player spawn point random? One time the lander was right next to my ship and I landed with like 94% energy. Great work on its completion though!

I found the game fun in it's breadth. There's a few useful suggestions I have that might overlap with other comments:
-Booster power could definitely be tweaked a little. I think it just needs more power.
-The randomness of the pad being at different spots on each play feels a little unfair. I'd suggest keeping all elements random except the pad.
-Make it so there's a max velocity you can land with. If you land with more velocity than the max you lose.
-Make it so the game keeps going until your power runs out. Add power-ups so you can rejuvinate your power that float in the air in between lands. This way, you have a reason to go into the air, then have the challenge of gravitating back down for another landing.

I have (and I am starting to think that I am cursed or sth [3rd or 4th game in a row]) problem - I am stuck in the main menu. When I start the game I can click buttons but they do nothing and the menu with "are you sure you want to quit" is visible (yet buttons are not doing anything).

I've read a lot of the comments... Iunno, I kind of like the art style overall. I would consider it to be unique and consistent. Nothing wrong there in my books. :-)

The game itself is playable. I kind of wish there was more to do. :-)

I found I didn't need to use the arrow keys. Is that normal?

The spacebar is used for both the thrusters and exiting the result screen. This didn't work for me very well, because I'd be tapping the space bar to land gently... then the result screen would pop up while I was still tapping the space bar. So... I often missed seeing whether I was successful or not.

Overall an okay game, there could be opportunity to expand it. What are you planning to do from here?

Looks cool but for some reason keeps closing the game during the game play.
