Steps by M-1

A rhythm-platformer without platforms, but with original music, all made in 72 hours.

Rules
Jump to the rhythm, avoid enemies and complete your journey. (There is a reward at the end!)
Controls
Move diagonally by pressing (choose any of following):
- two arrow keys (e.g. to go "up, right" press Up and Right arrow keys at the same time; if you press only one arrow key, it is ignored)
- I, O, K, L
- 7, 9, 1, 3 keys on the numpad
Tips
- Watch for movement patterns for each enemy type and use the information for finding a safe path around (or under) it.
- If there is a checkpoint nearby and/or there are too many enemies, it may be easier to "just run there" and try your luck.
- Going through the straight corridor at the end is actually easier than it seems: it is possible to just go straight without stopping if you start at the right time
Theme
We chose "turn-based/rhythm" + "platformer". Actually there in only one platform in the final game, but I guess it still has enough features of a platformer...)

Any kind of feedback is appreciated!
Please let me know if you get stuck, I will post some tips.
(Please download and play the native Windows/macOS version. The WebGL build sucks.)

The level design and a very fast condance, there is a good idea, but the learning time per situation is a bit short, even if the game is not in the theme, it is nice.
I invite you to come see my game, it's a trun based runner who in the final is also a puzzel game.

Unfortunately the input is very delayed and makes it almost unplayable (timming).
Putting graphics down didn't do much use as well because then the helpful shadows were gone too.
All in all a good game.
If you have still some time, I would love it if you could test our game.

I do like how the music kind of comes to a slowdown when you get hit by obstacles. That was pretty amusing. The soundtrack is also particularly great, probably the standout of this game. I actually have it playing in the background while writing this comment. :grinning: All around, feel-good music.
