Brawler-esque? At least that what i was aiming for... initially :P
The "game" doesn't have much to do with the theme... there was supposed to be a cutscene or something... you can always imagine that there is one.
Either way Controls: W A S D - movement J - Punch K - Dash

Love the graphics! Too bad that it wasn't related to the theme, you could have used like the light to recharge your power or something like that.

Hello! Good job. Whatever for the theme ;), I guess you might want to work on the punching mechanic and feedback here, like making it faster and more impactful ? Also I had a weird bug where a sort of sprite sheet kept appearing on the screen. The little dudes are cute btw :)

A very basic, but enjoyable game. I really like the visual style a lot. The dash mechanic feels good due to the visual reinforcement. The fighting does not work too well yet, because it often felt like I did not hit the enemies who were right in front of me. Also, enemies stacking on top of each other are rather problematic. I second the suggestion of mat4dor to make the switching lights a part of the game mechanic, that would've been interesting. Good job overall!

The fact that you submitted an entry, in all of its glitchy glory, means you did something that many don't even get to do which is "submit a game". Simple is usually best and the punching animation, with its delay, makes it feel like you are punching really hard! lol Great attempt.
