StealthBall, a Stealth X Baseball Game

"Reach all bases without being seen by the opponent's pitcher. Can you do it, or will a surprise guest ruin your chances to win by being disruptive?"

This is our first Ludum Dare entry, and we're quite happy with how it turned out. We both had little experience in making games before, so Ludum Dare seemed like a good starting point on gaining experience, both regarding our dev-skills as well as working together as a team.

Idea, graphics and bgm by @chibitan, coding by @exia.

Engine used: Unity 2017.3.1f1

Graphics: Photoshop

BGM: Mario Paint

We opted out of Audio since all the other sounds used are copyrightfree sounds provided on the internet, sources can be found in the description on the game's itch.io page.

Known issues:

-Opponent can walk over obstacles

-Opponent turns around instantly

-"surprise guest" ignores obstacles and other entities

-"surprise guest" might stay longer on screen then he should, initiating a new throw will reset him

Really innovative concept!! Took me awhile to notice the cone of the opponent but it was pretty fun after i figured it out ^-^ .... Also that random pig xD

Great concept! I played it over and over again until I finally made it, I had a lot of fun. The pig is a fun addition as well, didn't see that coming.

I've played a few rounds and enjoyed every moment of it. Very cool idea, now I'm wondering how it would look/play like if it was a full match with more players. "Deus Ex of Baseball" has some nice ring to it.

Really cool idea and fun to play. Couldn't tell if the timing of hitting the ball had impact over where it went/how far.

This concept is super interesting! I'm glad I tried your game after reading your awesome feedback :)
It isn't flashy, but the design is excellent. Great job!

@dwemthy Timing doesn't have impact, it's just rng. We considered it, but there wasn't enough time left to properly implement it.

Great job, it would be nice if you could play a 'pvp' match, it is a nice concept, but it is kinda easy. Also very polished.

A cool combination of genres. Unfortunately, with the lack of feedback when attempting to hit the ball, I couldn't really time my swings, so I never got very far at all.

The graphics are basic, and could use a clear colour scheme (the brown vs. green outside the pitch is probably the worst offender).

Pretty cool, with room for improvement.

Gameplay combination worked really well. The random placement of barriers ended up being way too hard some times, way too easy other time. It definitely needed more graphics to know the range of the catcher's view and such.
