God n' food by Caspercaper17
This is my first game jam ever, so Im proud of what I made in the time I had. Its not much, Ill tell ya that right now.
The game:
You have resources on all sides, the point is to make sure both sides have more then 0 of every sort and to make sure gods opinion of you stays above 0, every time you sacrifice, gods opinion raises by 50.
You can shift recources between sides to make sure dyou have sufficient amounts of resources to sacrifice or to supply to feed amother side.
Consumption is every 15 seconds and will deplete random amounts of all resources.
Collecting happens consistently depending on the sources (I mever finished that part, theres a static amount of sources now) Try beating this score:

I run the game in 1920 x 1080 here, try 1280 x 720 if you want a better result like this:

I couldn't find found the optimal resolution. Also Im not sure If it works on all platforms, if it doesnt leave a comment please. I hope you enjoy it. Otherwise, thanks for taking time to check out my game, even if you think its an awful game (what it probably is :P)

As for the actual game, I didn't understand how exactly I raised god's opinion (by pressing the numbers and sacrificing) and how I lost. At first I tried to balance the resources and periodically sacrifice. Then, I just started buttonmashing.
If you fix the UI anchoring and give a little more feedback for different player inputs (like UI animations), it could be a nice resource management game.

I hope that makes the game clear, I will add that to the description as well.
Now for my original idea, to make my desisions a little more clear.
The initial idea was to have villages producing resources depending om what recources they could locally produce. The villages would have to trade to make sure theyre all stocked on all goods.
Youd also have to regulary sacrifice goods to god to avoid disasters, this sadly quickly proved to be too farfetched for my skills.
Is there a specific to strike ?
Search Unity export to Windows, Mac, Linux to make executables for each platform.

I never thought people would find it hard to understand XD. Its a good lesson, I shouldve included a tutorial.
Great work with the theme. While the mechanics themselves are fine and reminds me of an idle clicker, something that would help improve the game and sort of work to the benefit of your mechanics is a better layout for you UI. Here's my suggestion:

I think a change like that, while simple, can improve how the game is played dramatically. A clearer explanation for what the number keys do would help as well, as I wasn't sure what t/m stands for but assumed it just affected how much of your resources were sacrificed to please the gods.
Anyway, congrats again! Hope you gained a lot of knowledge from the experience.
I think I might expand on this idea making it a real strategy game during this month.
Should I set some specific settings before launch the game ?
What are you Pc specs, loading the game can take a while. Loading the game takes about 10 seconds for me but if you have a lower end computer it might take longer
I think you should work on making the game rules clear, and obviously people have talked about the resolution stuff. Once I worked out what was going on, it was an interesting idea. Perhaps it could be improved if the player could see 5 seconds in advance what the consumption would be, so they could make sure their resources are in the right place?
I hope we see you again next time :)
Du must das essen auf beide zeite <0 haben. Du kann das essen mit q,e,a,d und z,c swischen dem seite transportieren.
Du must Got blei machen. Mit 1 6/m kannst du das essen zu Got geben. Als Got >0 ist, verliert du.
I hope that will help, I only have had 2 years of german, so it's probably really flawed, but you might be able to do it with that.
The only downside I see is progression which doesn't does it change over time? I pleased gods greatly but difficulty didn't seem to rise. That and controls which could be simplified with interface intractable with mouse (suggestion mockup included below).

In any case, good idea, perfect for devices!
Thanks a lot for the awesome feeback, i appreciate a lot.
But after I spent 2 hours just on the resource counters i realised this wasn't gonna happen and I simplified it to this.
Can you tell me what resolution you are playing at so I can try it with that?
@j0ye
There is also "Button" text floating around twice.
I get the idea of the game - it's just not really engaging that much, and i'll tell you why:
- instead of use of keyboard - make buttons
- make your game ability to give feedback - if you press something - it glows, if you loose - it tells you, this is how you build immersion
- crude graphics is not an issue - work on polishing your design, game feedback and make player to do interesting choices - right now i was smacking all the buttons 5s into the game just because i could and it didn't matter in the end... :)
Hope it wasn't too harsh but you can learn (and you probably already did!) a lot from feedback given here!
Good luck and keep jaming!
