Perd by DaniilGaponov

Hello! This is our second game for Ludum Dare! We will be very happy if you appreciate it.

Perd is a fast, fun shooter with pleasant graphics. You are alone at the planet in a galaxy far, far away, planet's atmosphere is deadly and radiation is strong, you would't survive there even for a second. Fortunately, you are under the protecting dome, but do not rush to rejoice, robots out there want to kill you and destroy the dome generator! Killing robots gives you scrap that can be used to build turrets and generators using the manipulator tool. Turrets help you to kill more robots and generators make the dome bigger. So, your goal is to protect the dome for 10 minutes till help will come. But be careful - if the dome is reduced too much, you lose!

Have fun!

Very nice game! I think the voxel explosions sort of take up too much screen space. Would be cool to physically have to collect the scrap, even if just by walking over it. But overall very nice!

Really nice graphics and gameplay. The explosions are amazing. It's a pity that you didn't put sound it would improve a lot.

I beat it on normal! This game is legit cool. Shooting feels good with the slow velocity bullets, especially aiming down the sites. Good job getting that recoil in. The game is just in dire need of SFXs. For an FPS, I think you should also try to get a little post processing in to help with the chaotic atmosphere.

Very good game - pretty complex for the time given! The normal difficulty was quite reasonable - it looked harder than it was, but I still died outright the first time since I hadn't figured out the building mechanics. I had some trouble telling the different turrets apart after placement... perhaps different colours might have helped here.

I liked the artstyle - the distortion outside the dome is really cool, but I'm conflicted on the explosions. I absolutely love the animation and look, however they ended up blocking my vision completely when I was near the enemy I destroyed, since the particles were opaque cubes.

Could have done with some audio - even just sound effects. More to have feedback on if you hit an enemy or not, more than anything else.

I did enjoy my playthrough - and I'm really impressed at what you've made here. My dome got so big that I could jump out of the map - got a nice pic of everything from under the ground. :camera:

I think the game needs a lot of balancing. I didn't feel the difference between difficulties. All of them are really easy if you build turrets and not just the basic one. The others are really cheap or has op effects, I mean if you buy six laser turrets you don't need to do anything after that, you just won. You can win the hardest mode if you buy only generators. (It was challenging tho) If you buy good turrets it gets really boring when you have to wait 60, or even 120 seconds to kill everything in 10 seconds. That's why I created challenges for myself, like only generator, and only basic turret. These were fun and with these I didn't have to wait. I tried a lot but the no turret challenge is impossible in my oppinion, but who knows. My advice is to make the normal harder and the hard much harder. You can reduce the damage of your turrets, increase the enemies damage, or they could drop less scrap, etc. I'm sure you have a lot more balancing parameters in your mind than me.

I really like the effects and the graphics, wish I could do something like this. There were lot of little details in this game, which is incredible regarding he time you had. Here is the list that amazed me: The gun; cartridges falls after shoot; magazine falls after reload; you can scope (It's useless because you can only shot in burts mode and your accuracy is not increased so you can shoot less bullet and gain nothing, but it's cool), the dome really is a dome: you can't jump high if the circle is small; the double jump, which gave me lots of cool flying action.

Overall awesome game. Nicely done!
