Bone Builder by MCRewind

[raw]
made by MCRewind for LD 40 (COMPO)

So here's my game for LD40, not sure about the name yet but whatever. It's not awful but I didn't get anywhere close to where I would've liked to. This was my first time using c++ for ld so I didn't expect much but this is what I got. It was supposed to be a zombie camp defense game but ended up more like an awful endless wave of buggy zombies, I'll explain how to play.

[CONTROLS] WASD - Movement Arrow Keys - Move Selector J - Shoot Space - Pick up selected block B - Drop held block 1 - Buy Hay Bale 2 - Buy Campfire 3 - Buy more expensive Campfire (dont press Z its a debug thing thing that spawns tons of zombies) (dont press H, test melee attack)

[GAMEPLAY] kill zombies to progress through waves pick up bones to buy materials build base to survive the oncoming hoard yes I am aware its awful

Difficulty felt a bit too easy. I went to wave 10 (at which point it crashed) without buying anything since the bullets just go through all the zombies without ever stopping. The controls for moving things around also felt a little clunky. The art is cute though, and killing a ton of zombies at once is as satisfying as always.

With more time I'm sure this would have been a very interesting game. Unfortunately it's unbalanced and a little buggy in it's current state. However, that's something I can look past since the idea seemed to be promising. Would like to see a finished version of this game!

Well, I liked the graphics, but yeah, it is a bit buggy. However, it can be good if you put keep working on it. 48 hours is not a lot of time after all. But hey, good job regardless!

Definitely a little too easy. I just collected bones and killed zombies until I had 704, which is when they finally killed me. Even if it couldn't been better in some ways, I enjoyed playing it. Nice job!
