Everything in the game was made from scratch except for the audio. Programs used: Unity, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, HacknPlan, 3dCoat,

For this Ludum Dare we had a team of five of us from Ohio University, 2 artists, 2 devs and a producer. Having a producer was so so so nice, it really helped streamline the pipelines of getting things done and let us create something we can all be proud of. The artists were kickass from start to finish and the dev team managed to bring the whole thing together in time. We changed our design scope a bit over development, but the end result is uncommonly close to what we had envisioned from the start. We hope you enjoy playing it!

The art is nice and I wish I could play through it, but you move very slow and it's impossible to see, and almost hurts to look at with the blur. Not knowing where to go next and constantly dying combined with the slow movement made it a bit frustrating, but I was eager to find the items to see what the pit would say and do next.

The game has a great atmosphere. I love the sound of the environment mixed with the footsteps in the snow and the effect of the storm. It really manages to convey a very immersive feeling of solitude. Great job!

cool game, but for a while there I didn't like it. So, I wandered off into the forest to gently die. After the ice covered my face, my soul was resurrected by the comment of death. Thank you for another life. I liked the game in the grand scheme, reminded me of "A long dark" - the first person aspects felt awesome with the snow particle effects and stuff

Great sense of atmosphere. I was a little mystified as to what I was trying to accomplish other than picking up branches and feeding the fire. I wandered for a bit, then I died, and the game told me I wasn't good enough, so I took it at its word. Definitely sells the vibe of being cold and miserable. Hints of Jack London "To Build a Fire". I was sort of musing to myself that the "sacrifice" would be my thumbs that I lose to frostbite as I try to to survival stuff.

@blondeman I am glad to hear that you liked the style of the game and felt driven to experience more of it and find other items. We are working on making it more streamlined (ie. motivation) and a couple other bugs. Thank you for the feedback, we all appreciate it.

Loved the atmosphere of the game, really made you feel alone with the wind blowing and your vision blurring when you get cold. Interesting take on the theme as well. The slower pace of gameplay is a bit of a challenge with jam games but I felt that for this game it needed to be like this. Good job overall.

I think you nailed it on the atmosphere and the audio-visual design, but I didn't find the game to be that interesting or fun. I think it's far too difficult to know where exactly you're going or what exactly you're supposed to do. I wandered around for about half an hour but all I ever found was a flare gun that was too far away to bring back to camp without freezing. From a narrative standpoint that's actually pretty clever, but it didn't feel like it was done intentionally...
