Sacrificial Sam by HitchH1k3r
You've found a map, and as a treasure hunter and all around ~~good~~ guy, you decided to see where it will take you. In this brand new game from the minds that brought you a wiggling dragon and a jello filled dungeon, you'll play as Sam the treasure hunter extraordinaire on his biggest quest yet! On the way you'll..
Meet New Friends
Solve Puzzles
Find Artifacts
and Perform Satanic Rituals
Remember: If it's treasure you are after, then sacrifices must be made.
Use Arrow Keys to move, pickup items, and interact with the world around you. The Shift Key will cycle through the characters you have unlocked.
Tips and Tricks
- There are four levels to beat, each introducing new mechanics. Try to figure out what the character you unlock does, and use that to solve the rest of the dungeon.
- Altars will need one or two things sacrificed to them before they will activate. Once activated they will summon an item/block and/or open a door.
- Coins are used in sacrificial rituals, and keys can open locked doors.
- There are also floor buttons that will toggle doors of it's corisponding color (if any are held down), and levers that do the same.
- When you unlock a new characters (there are four characters total) you can use the left or right shift key to control them.
- There are three secret items hidden in the game, if you find them you can get the "good" ending.

I think the biggest criticism I can make is that it's quite cumbersome to switch between characters once you get more than two; assigning each of the characters to a key (e.g. 1 to Sam, 2 to Viking, 3 to Elf) would have helped immensely.
I did have difficulty identifying some of the tiles, especially the gap in the floor and the top of the wall. I also felt that it didn't make sense that I couldn't push a box onto carpet.
Another suggestion is to make the character slide smoothly on the ice instead of hopping really fast.
Overall, a fun game! Great job!
The mechanics are nicely introduced and everything feels polished.
As already mentioned, switching characters becomes a little bit tedious and sometimes there is a lot of distance to travel. But these are only minor defaults: the game is very impressive and consistent (graphics, mechanics, music).
Probably one of the best I played so far :)
@chaosed0
I was going to have the number keys switch directly to the characters, I guess it didn't get done because I ran out of time, and we didn't know how many characters would be in the game when we finished. I wish I had had time!
@lmb @tornoz
The Lost Vikings defiantly came up in our brainstorming session, for a moment we considered arrow traps and a character with a shield that could block them, good observation! ^_^
@generictoast @haustgeirr I bet you got the "good" ending (it's pretty hard not to if you had the "secret objects"). Regardless of the ending it's just a credits screen, but (**spoilers**):
!> In the last level you will have to sacrifice each of the heroes unless they are holding their matching doll, on the credits screen it shows the heroes or "ghosts" depending on if they survived.
In retrospect players that play the game the most, get a less satisfying ending, which was a mistake. Thanks for playing to the end!
@wiredoverload It sucks that you can leave the first level before getting the artifact :cry: I had programmed doors that open once an object was picked up (intended for the "treasure rooms"), but they did not make it into the levels. Thanks for letting us know you got bite by this!
First thing that strikes me - tutorial is masterfully done. You really have the talent to explain everything about the game without any words.
Art is simple, but very sweet. Animations are very nice.
Sound is done very well, it really accompanies the game overall.
Gameplay is very addictive - smart puzzles and heroes with distinctive abilities puts the game together, making you want to play it further more.
Also, way you did good/bad ending is very smart, I really liked it (though I got "bad" one).
Amazing entry, masterfully done. Great job!
