Bomber Dash by harusame

Bomber Dash is a Beat Them All where you must survive on a small platform. Unfortunately, all the enemies tend to explode, destroying the platform even more, making it smaller and smaller.

:checkered_flag: YOUR GOAL : Stay alive as long as possible, collecting coins and defeating as many enemies as possible.

I love the different ennemies, specifically the canon shooting upward. But it quickly gets far too messy for me... probably a matter of taste. Also, I have a weird felling about the controls, I can't say why. But somehow, I can't really fell "in".
Though, the amount of polish with the animations is impressive.
It controls smoothly enough, even if I think it is hard to attack when moving vertically. Other than that, the game is great! I do believe you get to die a bit quickly, but it isn't too much of a big deal.

Yes, we were aware of the balance issue, there was a bug in the enemies spawning calculation we fixed it and uploaded this fixed version with a few other bugs fixing. :wink:

Also, there was a bug in my playthrough with the enemies spawning at the bottom partially offscreen:

-- I thought it was difficult to attack people on top of you and below you.
-- I think its a good idea to get more points when attacking enemies as well as getting coins. I did not notice getting more coins when damaging enemies.
-- The dash animation is cool. But I did not use it once. Can you bypass holes with the dash?
@dingodize Falling should decrease your HP by one. If it didn't then it should be a bug...

@tlcoc @s-london-by Indeed the right Ctrl button is not mapped. For dash you can also use Shift, C and both Alt buttons, should have put more than one in the tutorial I guess :cat:
@josehzz Yes we wanted the ennemies not to hurt you while spawning but it seems not to be working well, ahah :sweat_smile:
@mza Yes, we first wanted to implement vertical attack as well but you know, lack of time... You don't get more coins by damaging ennemies but the number of killed ennemies is part of the final score. Also if you don't attack at all, bonus and coins will stop appearing. Yes, you can go over one hole by using dash, you can also send away ennemies when they turned red after you attacked them (except the turret).
The only thing that was difficult is that the hero can only give hozitontal hits and the hitboxes makes easier to hit enemies above you than below.
The rest is just perfect. Great graph, great humor, great sound, great design !
Really one of my favorit entries so far !
But it's really fun to play and replay to beat your highscore !
The online leaderboard is a nice addition to be able to compare your score to everyone else.
The sound is a bit loud though, you should consider lowering it a bit.

I liked your approach to the theme. The concept is interesting, and I'd like to see more of this game. Very good pixel-art, character design, animations, and sound effects. The only thing that doesn't fit well, in my opinion, is the music.
