Burgloiree by MetalCasting

[raw]
made by MetalCasting for LD 38 (JAM)

Burgloiree is a text adventure created solo from scratch in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 38. The theme: a small world. You are an infamous thief who has resolved to steal as much as possible from a distant kingdom's wedding reception. But the reception just so happens to be for the captain of the guard in your hometown!

Windows, Mac, and Linux: https://pressurespike.itch.io/burgloiree (To be overly technical, the Windows version is the 72 hour jam submission. The Mac and Linux versions, while identical to the Windows version, were added after the jam ended.)

Using Unity to make text based game - if someone ever wanted to define what "Overkill" is, then he would probably say something like that.

There is one thing this game needs - scrollback. I'm not a fan of this kind of games, but I don't get why with crowbar in my pocket i couldn't get to chapel, or why I couldn't use lighter and candle/lamp to visit dark rooms.

I wasn't able to feel the theme of the jam here, except for guards talking about it. Looking at screenshots it seems that there is lot of text to be read, but story isn't really interesting. Even after I named myself "my son".

Love MUDs and so I automatically love this. The exploration is fun as well as the sense of "Ohh, I should go find something to solve this". There's a lot of hidden commands, however, like "Light Lantern/Candle" and "Wait" and "Press". It is sort of weird that it says it's too late to turn back but you can immediately leave.

You might want to turn graphics/audio off on your ratings.
