Your goal is to survive as long as you can while battling other pirates and repairing your ship.
Be aware, game becomes hard very fast.

It's easy to play. I love it !
Animations are pretty cool too !
I didn't really liked the gameplay tho, mostly because the weapon didn't feel useful at all. Maybe I didn't hear it but a sound effect on a hit would be really great, and maybe the screen should shake more on a hit and some slicing animation. But I guess I can't complain too much since you had a small period of time to make it.
Keep it up.
Thanks for the feedback.
The game has potential with the addition of some mechanics. The rest is great.
@dnp Combat system is something I will definitely "repair". Thank you for the feedback and suggestions!
@simplepotential I will post a blog when I publish an update! Glad you liked the game!
With this kind of game, i feel like it should start with one enemy, then two... basically start slowly and build up enemies.
Having said that, for a compo game, the amount of game that you made is impressive.
Some polishing on the game would be great (animation, sound, hitting feedback), I liked the overall art, especially of the player and enemys.
Looks great, and plays quite good. I wish for a way to replenish health. Also, during the "next round" button display you can still run around an repair the ship :)
### Things added and changed:
- **Music**
- **Enemy hit indicator**
- **Sword sound**
- **Sword animation**
- **Quit button**
- **Less enemies are spawning each wave**
- **Bug fixes**
I got to level 5 :)
P.S. Nice score!
The game didn't go with the theme as you were not running out of space, the ship was just getting destroyed and its health decreased, adding the mechanics where you wont be able to walk on holes, would fix these, but you will have to make sure that the don't make holes near stairs or the entry.
also another point, you should have made enemies weapon a drill instead of a gun, it might look more funny and accurate
Good Job!!!
Keep it
The only thing I missed a bit were a way to progress. I think it would be really cool if the enemies spawned stuff after you kill them. Like a little healthpack or maybe a weapons upgrade or something similar.
@loudrasiel Thanks for the nice feedback!
Love that you added music, sound effects for hitting and visual indicators for hitting the pirates. I would like to hear a sound when hitting the pirates as well, like a sword 'thunk' or the pirates going 'oof'. Same goes when you get hit by a pirate. Adding the visual and audio cue that you are taking damage would make it feel a bit more visceral.
A graphic of water coming out of the holes that are made by the pirates would convey a bit better that the ship is sinking constantly.
Those are just quality of life enhancements. Something you could add to the game that wouldn't take much is power ups. Off the cuff you could have a power up for player speed up, patch a random hole/repair hull on the ship, player health kit, temporary upgrade to a gun for a one shot kill on a pirate.
Feel free to use or ignore any of these suggestions, just my two cents. Love the art style!
Have fun out there!
You already played our game: The legend of the looter and the incredible backpack that never runs out of space, so we can't do anything but thank you. 」( ̄▽ ̄」)
@mapedorr @anubhav-kashyap Thanks for such a nice feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Maybe it would be interesting to add the fact that you can fall into breaks :)
We had nearly the same mechanic in our game but in 3D :)
Great job, one of a great entry in compo jam !!
