Your graphics and mood were very much on point. The sound and music is fantastic. The controls for the game are tight and well designed.
Cons:
Your game was too challenging. Enemies can shoot at the player before you can ever see them, and has a constant rate of fire that means the player either perfectly times their jumps over and over, or die quickly.
It's a shame, because your game looks and sounds amazing, and I would love to experience more of it.
Inside the buildings, when I touch the right side wall, the scene resets. This was quite annoying for a minute because I thought that I needed to get through the room to continue.
Graphics, sound and music on point. Good game!
Other than that, it's a good entry!
I like the art, especially the destroyed city at the background (which reminds me a bit of Metal Warriors and Samurai Jack) and I also like the very very low resolution painting of a guy raising his hand in Hitler's house.
###### *Just reporting a bug I found in Hitler's house (at least in WebGL version): if you go right past the "small world", the scene is reseted and you are back to his house again.
(you said to comment our games too, so here's mine :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/ragdoll-wars enjoy!)
Nice art and sound!
Anyways I'm getting sidetracked. The graphics were well done as were the sounds. It did need a little more balance as the bullets and then the carrots? were really fast, although like most people pointed out crouching did help. I didn't have a problem with the controls or the speed of the jumping or crouching, my biggest complaint would have to be how short it is! Ha Ha! Great entry!
Gameplay was relatively straightforward, keep going forward, avoid and shoot. My only issue was that I got stuck on the first room because of a possible bug that caused you to start again on the other side. Because of that I couldn't see the text about the sphere the first two times I played. as others have said, it could use a bit more polish, but in such a limited time that is hard to achieve most of the time.
Good job!
The graphics are quite nice, and I generally don't like pixel graphics. The music was also pretty good.
Also the music was so great, if only Doom 2016 had y'all do the audio!
But I think there are a few simple changes you could do to make it a better experience.
For example, moving a bit faster, and having a bit more time after you die (to see that you have been hit properly and to make the restart a little bit less rough).
And actually when I entered the house with the small world, I didn't understand at first I had to wait in front of it, and thus I went through the room several times before understanding it. ^^
Funny job!

Keep up the good work.
Congratulations!
Cheers!
I had to read comments to understand I had to wait next to the sphere to progress. WebGL version as well!
Cheers
I did like the graphics, and the music was pretty good too. I think there is promise here, but it needs a lot more polish.
Pretty good entry. The bullet hitboxes were a bit big, and it was possible to stand on top of boxes/pigs/barrels and just let the enemies pass under you to win.
Great mood and art!
The UI could use a lot of work, death leads to the game over screen way too abruptly. Why search for "R" when the jump or fire button could be used to restart.
A health system would be better than the one-shot kill. If you're going for Contra-style difficultly, then at least make use of death animations and scene transitions.
Finally, I think the scene loading was bugged? I only got about two screens in and then it loaded a small room, and every time I walked through it the same scene would load over and over again.
