The game is great!

I do think you can't really recognize all the keys at the same time. I tried to lift some just to test and the game didn't care. But the concept is awesome, and I guess it's kinda okay if you don't cheat yourself.

Really innovative, the art is simple but really charming, the music is cool, there are funny comments at the side. The game fits together really nicely, it would be great in a suite of party games or something like that. Also, different but perfect take on the theme.

@sohakes indeed, the game only knows if you are pressing at least one key, or are not pressing anything. This is due to technical constraints : most keyboards can only send the information of 3 or 4 different keys being pressed at the same time. So, it is up to the players not to cheat...
It is kind of a computer assisted board game.
A suit of party game ? Why not.

This was super cool!!! it was a little unclear what the game was telling me at certain parts, so the UI/UX needs some work, but this is a great party game.

@catchthefloaty Thank your for the feedback. Indeed, some wording might be improved and more testing is required withe beginners. Originally I had planned to use pictures to explain things... Maybe in post compo version

Really fun game, and interesting take on the theme! It took me a minute to figure out what to do but once I got it, the game was a lot of fun. As others have stated I'm not sure if it's possible for the game to keep track of all the button presses at the same time, but without cheating the game was fun just by myself, I can't even imagine how chaotic it would be with 8 players!

The moment I saw the cool af icon, I knew this was going to be something and I'm fortunate to say that it is.

This is really a fun game and I can really see how it can be a party game with a bunch of people! I do feel @catchthefloaty though in that the instructions might have been a little unclear and that the UI/UX could use some work.

Overall, super fun game and I've read that you @vfabien21 will rework it post jam so it'll be interesting to see what a bit of polish can do!

Got a bug where after tutorial every time I started a new game it just said "if you fail : release the keyboard". Had to reopen the game to get it back working. Nice concept! Multiplayer was really fun, but too bad there were constraints about pressed keys so game couldn't check wheter every key was pressed :( Definitely has potential for great party game though!

@hanin ha, yeah... UI/UX... that's such a tough job. Some poeple are just very impressive at that job.
@pabricka thank you for the report. I'll investigate that.

@vfabien21 I feel like you could literally just change the text font into a better one and you have a much better presentation. Definitely get those pictures to work!

Thank you for all your prositive comments. At those who loved the experience, but had difficulties to understand how to play (@nofear, @team-on ,@vekstr ,@joloujed ,... ) was figuring out the rules part of the fun ? Or is it something that I need to improve (for example better tutorial)

Great concept ! It was very clever to take the subject on a material plan such as a keyboard ! Makes me think of twister ! That could be a fun party game. At least until everybodies hands are sweaty and sored ^^
But the Ui needs to be worked on. It's eausy to get mixed up since every bit of text are on the same plan, same typo etc

I had to read through the comments here to figure out how to actually play it, so the UX should be rewroked to better communicate the actual gameplay, at least to a first time player. Otherwise, a great and fun take on the theme! The music and the art style are also lovely and work together well :)

Really inventive idea and use of the theme! I played your game during my steam, if you want to see that the video is here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/finger-noodles at around 4:40 into the video.

I could see this being a lot of fun at parties with custom hardware that ensures that all button presses could be tracked!

@ursagames thanks ! That was very interresting to watch.
I have a question though : you don't have a qwerty keyboard, don't you ? Because all keys I attribute to a hand should be whithin reach.
ursagames
17. Aug 2018 · 23:41 UTC
@vfabien21 I do have a qwerty keyboard, what I was referencing was the n-key rollover limits that most keyboards have that prevent registering over a certain number of key presses simultaneously.

I was like what the hell, I don't know what it is but I must learn how to play it) the combinations of colors and music makes a strange vibe, and I like it!) Didn't get much of the challenge as single player once I figured it out how to play, but it doesn`t make this entry any worse. GJ!)

On a retina screen the text appears very small, and perhaps because of that, it's difficult to discern what the next step is. I think some animations and more thorough instructions to indicate which hand and which key the hand is supposed to press would help. Also say something like, "don't let go of the keys until the next turn!" Anyway, cute concept, I really like it.

This game has potential as a party game - or as part of one larger party game :)

Loved the way the game asked me not to cheat, hahaha
🎤 vfabien21
31. Aug 2018 · 13:29 UTC
@wendel-scardua haha, Lol. I did not really mean to make a joke (because it really is impossible to track more than 4 keys being pressed on most keyboards), but that was still fun to write.
Actually, I like the "boardy-game" feeling it creates with the players.

Loads of fun, played this with my wife and we're still together (just)! I also once tried to make a game in which you had to keep lots of keys held down at once and found out as you did that rather annoyingly most keyboards don't track very many simultaneously... Great mood, art style, sound and general polish. A really good entry!

For some reason I had absolutely no idea what the game wanted us to do for the first 3 attempts, but when I realised it's just keyboard Twister we had a great time! It does seem like unless your keyboard has N-Key-Rollover it will start to forget which old keys need to be held down though, so you can kinda cheat.
🎤 vfabien21
02. Sep 2018 · 19:26 UTC
@bradleypollard Indeed you can cheat ! For the reason you said I don't event try to check which key is being pressed. I only check whether a key is being pressed or not...
Yeah, I might build a new version with clearer explanations
