DRAIN by LERPish
This is actually our first ludum dare project it has a lot of problems but we made our best. So the game works like this. You and your enemies have 2 bars an health bar (the red one) and the power bar (the yellow one) everything you do takes out power and your enemies also loose power, when you kill an enemy he will give you the same power he had when he died, some enemies drop a health pack, to attack you should mantaign pressed the left mouse button and you can also slow down time by clicking in the right mouse button although that feature is only usefull if you wanna walk faster than the enemies this also takes a lot of energy. Any way we hope you like the game -Rui (LERPish) -Ben (Toast Hatter)
Take up the role of a robot ninja, of course, who keeps himself alive by killing and taking the energy of other robots! Battle it out in two exciting modes! - Survival – How long can you last, battle many different enemies and try to stay alive, watch out for rare and hard to find enemies too. - Story Mode – Collect the right amount of energy to survive, and watch out for tough boss fights!!

I would have liked to be able to move while attacking though!
Must be careful with the pulls I ended up pulling the whole map twice and it didn't end well ._.
Great entry!
The boss appearing when the meter fills up is a little on the abrupt side, and the boss battle doesn't seem very meaningful as it is, maybe the boss could spawn in while the other robots are still there? Or possibly there should be some other mechanic for battling a boss.
I played this on twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163569305 - timestamp 1:32:05
Please play, rate and comment our game aswell:

The lighting effects is very good !
**Positive stuff :**
- The graphics, i digged the main character's design, and the little cutscenes were a cool touch, i also liked the katana trail effects :)
- The music was nice
- The choice of a story mode and a survival mode with multiple maps
- The main gameplay is fun
**Negative stuff :**
- The controls need a bit more work i.m.o
- A bit heavy on the effects, while the trails looked nice, i personally thought the blur was sometimes a bit much
- Has a few glitches here and there, when dezooming the camera with the mousewheel the camera went insane when i scrolled a bit too far, and when testing survival mode i had an enemy stuck into a wall on the castle map
Honestly though, for a first LD it's a pretty good game with a solid concept, just needs a bit of added polish
Good job guys :)
Oh and i'll give you a silly award : You get the "Can't go wrong with ninja cats" award :p
The combat felt a bit clumsy. It was missing quite a lot of audio/effect feedback on stuff like player getting hit, missing a swing etc. The combat was pretty much just backpedaling and trying to swing at enemies and hoping that they wouldn't hit you back. At least I couldn't come up with any better strategies. Did not find any use for the slow mechanic really. And I feel like there were quite a lot of invisible walls and/or small bumps on the ground which made me get stuck, and since there is no strafing and the turning is slow, I always ended up dead.
I had few instances where the player character animations glitched out and stopped showing the actual swing animation (only the trail effect).
The control(l)s were straight up lying. A/D and left/right did nothing. You turned with mouse and the keys should have been strafing anyway. Accidentally pressed C at some point which seemed to switch between camera modes but the other option was pretty much unusable. I also think that the camera should be raised a bit to let the player have a better view of whats in front of them.
Good job on your first LD! Hope to see more from you guys next time...

Thanks for being part of the stream :)
I hope the left/right can make the character strafe left/right, if the mouse is used to rotate the cam, then it felt kinda weird that the left/right cannot strafe.
My only complaint was not having a side-step movement with A/D.
I couldn't tell what right-click was doing until I checked the controls screen - I wonder if there is some way to highlight the slowing of time.

The game looked pretty, and I took the time to beat it. I wish there was more to the gameplay, though – I mostly stood in front of the enemies and held down the mouse button. The movement without strafing was kind of weird, but it wasn't necessarily bad. It could probably be used creatively when adding *something* (parrying? more strategic usage of power?) to the gameplay!
Good job overall!
Thanks for streaming my game also :)
