Insanity is a simple "Horror" game. Created for the Ludum Dare 42 Theme ("Running out of Space")
The lower your Sanity is the lower your Vision Space gets.
Find 7 Pills around the Map, and don't go Insane.
Pills.png They Glow and Look like this. They can also be seen in the Menu Screen. But only 7 will be available when playing.

Controlls

WASD & Arrow Keys - To Move Around
E - Open Doors when close to them
Picking up Items by walking over them

All the Sounds were recorded with a Phone.
Sometimes the doors will not work properly, but we wanted to keep it that way, just cause we thought it was funny.
Do not play this game with Max Volume. It will be loud.

WE WILL NOT BE PROVIDING SCREENSHOTS TO KEEP AWAY THE SUPRISE OF THE MAP AND OTHER THINGS IN THE PROJECT.

I like the look and feel, it reminds me of that Unity sample project with the zombie bunnies. The realtime lighting is nothing short of impressive. The theme is something deep and an interesting interpretation of the given inspiration. Moving around is quite fun from the top down perspective. It looks rather complete and of high quality. Cheers.

I liked the game, I would prefer if the game had better controls or maybe a different camera angle. However, that is just me. I really liked the jump scares. Very well done!!! I hope to see you in December for the next one!

I spent half my insanity finding how to open the door in the first room, haha, this ruined the mood a bit, but totally my fault for not reading before. Thanks for the goosebumps, nice game.

Don't like that the character change it's orientation when you stop moving. Don't like to be blocked by books on the floor.

Oh my god what are you trying to do to me !! :D

Really well put together, graphics, audio etc, very nicely done. And I really liked the lighting in it.
Only issue I had was trouble interacting with the pills sometimes. Overall I really enjoyed it.

The mood was solid, and the game did give me goosebumps, so props on the horror/theme aspect. I usually post a screenshot with my feedback but to leave the surprises unspoiled, I left it out. However not being able to see the player while the camera was not centered exactly on the player made navigating around in the dark very disorienting. The game should at least provide a center of reference for the player.

@thebmxeur I was thinking about adding rigidbodies to the books but we didn't have enough to for it. Some books were little bit inside the floor so they would have flewn to the air so I removed rigidbodies from them.

@bloc97 This setting could have easily been done by changing a single variable. Yet we decided to keep it that way because other wise the flashlight was to visible when the screen became smaller.

We will most likely also update the game privately more to that will be posted here later.
For the Ludum Dare we will obviously keep it as it is at this time.

Very nice game and good execution! The audio is killing, in a good way :-D I would have liked some sort of direction indicator or system but maybe that's the point to not have one. Great entry!

So far my favourite game!! However, when my eye is almost depleted I feel like I almost have no chance on finding anymore pills. I would have not let it get so dark.

@realmar My tip for that is to wait in the menu and Look at all the potential pill positions. And get like a rotation of where to go. Its the easiest way to "Win." WE didnt want to keep the pill locations in the menu, so you are lucky :3

Really awesome concept and great mood for this game! I managed to find 5 of 7 pills. From the comments here it seems like there's a nice surprise after finding all 7 but I got too claustrophobic eventually and can't do it. Would be great if you had a playthrough video so people who didn't manage to get through could see the ending :)

Anyway, great work!

@nightmaresdev Great man i liked the game very much, the visuals, jumpscares, overall nice experience. though it would be better to change the camera angle and make it FPS, then it would have been an amazing experience.
