BloodyVampy by LegalSoul

[raw]
made by LegalSoul for LD 39 (JAM)

Poor little Vampy was just resting in a pretty bloody cave when some heavenly angels sent him these awful white light crystals. They emit some white fog, making Vampy's skin melt and burn. Help Vampy kill the light and make him free from the angelic plots.

Controls

WASD = move Vampy around.

Left click = shoot bloody energy.

Right click = pull the bloody cube closer.

E = Just in case if you just want to kick the air.

Target

Deactivate all the white crystals with the power of your shots. You must have the bloody cube close to you in the deactivation moment cause only its dark energy can help you deactivate the white crystal. If the cube is far away, the crystal remains intact. Avoid the white fog!!1212.jpg 12313.jpg

Hard game, but cool idea. :) By the way, it lags hard in web version :(

Took a bit getting used to, but I managed to win once I got the hang of things. I enjoyed the mood of the game, the music and the graphics went well together. Controls felt fine too, it felt quite intuitive to play this game.

Overall a nice entry, good job!

Wow, that was very hard, i could only manage to deactivate the top crystal, after that i was all out of energy and didn't have enough crystals to recharge and attack.
Nice idea, well implemented, a bit too hard for me ;)

Intially it was hard for me, but then I found out the way and from that moment it was easy enough and satisfying... that's what I like about games, this game me the ideal amount of "resistance" before I managed to "crack" it. Not like defeat or finish but just to find the optimal strategy. So I don't know if that was intentional or not but it created very good play experience for me.
The music was good and moody, although some interaction sounds or sounds of steam/crystals would be better.
The theme and the idea was quite original too and the graphics were good too. Overall, nice and short entry, but it totally worked for me!

Somewhat unpolished gameplay, but overall pure awesomeness! Very nice atmosphere and mood! Great work!

It seems to be very unforgiving. You loose power by shooting and pulling the thing. It will happen often that you're just running out of power exactly when standing next to the light emitters.

It was also a bit odd that your dark energy cube doesn't have any other use than sealing the light. It doesn't get rid of some fog for example eventhough there is red stuff coming out.

The controls worked nicely, it feels good to shoot the fog away. It could have been a bit more lenient getting hit by it however.

The game doesn't tell you anything, a brief showing of the button layout would have been nice.

The soundtrack works well for the mood, it appears to be distorting though. The looping is a bit rough.

But it's cool seeing a new idea on here.

I felt very punished for pretty much every action. First of all it seems like too much things are affecting the player's power and it's going down really quickly.
The gameplay is quite functional though, the controls are working perfectly and it's satisfying to "erase" the fog. It has a great mood but I needed more motivation to really get into it, like a little backstory to justify my actions.
Overall it's a cool concept but the game lacks polishing, could be a really cool game with more time spent on it though so keep it up, it's a good start, good job!
