Day and Night - 2D Game (mac/windows) by Syl-WhatsUpDesign

[raw]
made by Syl-WhatsUpDesign for LD 39 (JAM)

Hi Guys,

Let me introduce you my entry for the Jam. The game is called Day and Night. It's a basic 2D, kind of point and click game for MacOs, Window.

I used Corona SDK and Lua to create it. I made everything by myself (design, concept, code). I found sound and additional graphic assets online.

The game is quite simple but for but it's my first Ludum Dare, I was alone and I made it in around 20 hours so it's not so bad!

Try it there: https://whatsupdesign.itch.io/day-and-night

Really nice atmosphere! The scenery around the game was a nice touch, and everything fits together really well

The graphics are awesome. For a first-timer as yourself, I have to admit those are some of the best visuals I have seen right now.

P.S. Your post gives a link to your itch.io page. I would recommend put this page's url there, so that the people who actually want to vote, land right on the voting page. Right now, they go directly to the itch page, play the game, and then have to find this page under your profile just to vote.

Good game though.

The audio and art are great! At first, I didn't realize that the citizens will get mad if you turn off their lights, but I quickly caught on. My only request is to be able to make it full screen. Other than that it is a great game.

Very nice game for a first LD !!! Great job. I really like sounds and the ambience. Moreover, the global principle of your game is interesting, this is simple but efficient. Nice job.

This game was great and fun to play! I liked that your way of conveying the theme was pretty innovative and that it only requires a mouse to play. I also liked that the game seemed very polished and didn't have any evident bugs and glitches, which is kind of rare for Ludum Dare entries. One fact that I didn't like about the game however, was that players couldn't restart the game after they failed. In conclusion, this game is a polished and not rushed innovative work for casual players to enjoy.

P.S. Graphics and Audio should be opted out. In the rules, it says that if a developer didn't fully make the graphics and audio, those categories should be opted out. In addition, you might want to opt out of humor too, as this game does not seem like it was meant to be humorous.

Great game and thanks for rating and playing my game!

Nice game. Maybe you should consider enabling fullscreen since the text at the beginning is quite small. Oh and I think this would work quite well with a touchscreen.

For your first ludum dare this is a pretty strong entry, good job!

PS: I took a look at your portfolio and you misspelled the link

Great mood created here! Cool balancing game. Very addictive. Graphics looked amazing. The only thing i noticed, nothing important, but the clouds are sometimes disappearing in the background. Over all a great entry, well done! :)

Great game, like the idea and the graphics! I did find once I got to a certain point in the game the lights switched off again so fast I had absolutely no chance of turning clicking them though!
