nice puzzle. make the transition to the next level on the space bar. using the mouse after the keyboard-all spoils. management should be made more smooth-responsive. constant jerks between cells are unpleasant.

I liked the concept, the responsiveness of the game could use some more work, but overall I enjoyed playing it. It definitely has potential.

nice puzzle, loved especially the name  if you go too fast however it doesn't register the tile you were on and you don't eat the fly. should make sure that always happens

@bloodjohn - Thanks, I'll add the space key and remove the next level button, it really makes more sense to fully interact with the keyboard

@kerelolivier - Thanks, as I was over the deadline could not add a tomer or different obstacles, but I'm sure I will add in a next version of the game

@simogecko xD Thanks, I really like geckos, they are very smart and useful against insects. Thanks, As for the bug of passing the block without eating, I noticed this in the development, but you have to press the key at the exact moment that the gecko stops walking ... anyway, thanks for mentioning, I'll see if I put a delay in controls to fix.

found a bug if I move too fast it skips a box. Anyway I think its a simple puzzle game and it fits the theme in a way that is quite expected. Anyhow, as much as I enjoyed the game, I dont think you benefit much from making a top down 3D game, 2D might even work better, also you save some performance as well. Did you model all the animals? they look good actually, like the bugs look delicious! Good work!

Good concept. The animations make it feel responsive, which is good, but sometimes you can skip a tile by tapping fast enough. I would also recommend a restart button, and making the "you died" sound not quite as loud. Other than those notes, I liked it!

Fun little puzzel game, would have loved support to move to the next level without the mouse. As well support to run the entire game from the mouse.

Also this would make a great cell phone game. Since you could just click to each tile to move.

@nam-nguyen Sorry, I do not know if the rules allow me to add an HTML5 version in gamejolt, right now that the jam deadline has gone ... if it is possible, I can add it later

@dominic Thank you for liking and thanks for the tips too.

@fecalmancer Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

@nam-nguyen - Thank you, How good that you managed to play it ... as for the bug, it really exists and I will fix it in the next version, I will add a delay in the commands, thanks for alerting ... I thought of doing everything in 2D, but as in 3D it would be much faster, I tried to make this 2.5D merge ... as for the characters, I drew and animated in Flash 8 then I exported the sprites to Unity

@darkguardsman - Thanks, I really should leave in the next version everything on the keyboard, and via mouse would be a great idea for when I make a version for smarphones

I also saw the issue where if you went too quickly over a tile, it would not register that you passed over it. Other than that, overall it was an enjoyable experience and well made. Nicely done. :)

@zariel I thought that 2D is always faster... 3D has to run perspective and shading calcualtions each frame.

As for the game, its controls felt a bit unresponsive, but beneath the surface there is a great puzzle game.

Bonus points for little lizards. I too was a little frustrated by the move-too-quickly-and-don't-eat-fly bug, but I learned to work around it and completed all stages just fine. Loved the level design. Didn't really feel like there was much of a difficulty progression though. But that's probably an issue of keeping it simple in scope so you could complete the game for LDJam. Very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this.

@stepan-shabalin - Thanks for playing, and thanks for your idea.

@chris-coe - Thanks a lot for your analysis, this is very motivating for me ... I'm glad you have won the game, I'm definitely motivated to create a new version of this game with many more challenges, improve the graphics and the gameplay

@landosystems - Thanks! Fidel is a great game, I'm glad my game reminded him of it. But I was inspired by the classic game Booby Carrot to develop Smart Gecko

Pretty good game with solid mechanics here! Love the difficulty curve.
Is there a retry button when you know you've made a mistake and want to retry without moving to a dead end ?
Good job! :D

Thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it ... I modified it here and left a delay of 3 seconds, so it automatically jumps to the next level... as for the reset level button, it's also a great tip, Thanks!

I really like the idea that there is less and less space and really love the music from menu! I wish i can walk using WSAD. Sometimes there is a bug that the fly is skipped :(

@halomegames - Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. is a good suggestion, I will see if I support the WSAD keys in a next version ... as for the leap bug and eat the fly, I already fixed it here, putting a small delay when pressing the keys, but due to the rules of the ldjam I think I can not post a new version of the game

@zariel Yeah but you can work on this game further outside of the LD, thats the point :)
Keep focus and make it great! Cheers!
