Controls

  • Swipe over a peasant's neck to sacrifice
  • Be accurate for the best score

About

I had already had a game where you played an executioner on the mind, when suddenly you guys DELIVERED on this theme. As soon as I saw what it would be for LD43, I knew I had to join. This is Behead, the game of political famine. I'm really proud of how it turned out! And really enjoyed myself. Hope you enjoy it too!

Too Controversial For Google Play. But Not App Store!

I'm happy to announce that Behead has been released in the Apple App store! I spent another 3 weeks or so on and off updating my game with suggestions from you guys as well as new sounds and a lot of polish. The whole game feels much better now! Unfortunately, Google Play seems to think Behead is "gratuitious," and "realistic," violence. What a shame...

the amount of different death sounds haha. i like it, you have to act fast in the end. i made it to 42.

Neat concept. Kind of like a edgy fruit ninja. Liked the art style too.

Though I find the name "Behead" a bit odd since you can only cut them down the middle.

This is a lot of fun. I wish the hitboxes were a bit more forgiving, but it's a great arcade experience.

I definitely felt stressed a few times when the pile started getting big. Was able to save it a few times by using combos to bring it back down. Nice game!

Very fun, very polished, I like.

Overall I really enjoyed it, and except for maybe the suggestion of some background music I don't have much more to say.

There was something a little bit extra satisfying when there were 5 peasant necks all lined up for a combo. Awesome game!

Got a score of 217. Kinda reminds me of the old flash game I would play at school when I was younger. Really great! Would have loved some music and a running score tally, not just kills.

Loved it.

Extremely fun, very nostalgic vibe to old, fun, score-grindy flash games form my middle school days. Loved, the sounds, the point system, the tutorial, and the especially the feel. Reminded me of the fishery memory in Edith Finch, but turned into an arcade game instead.

Ha, nice one! I recognize the sound of knife sharpening that i tried to use in my game but ended up not using, nice to know that i wasnt the only one of thinking this way in order to obtain this sound. The game fits the theme, and i guess it would be ever better to play in mobile. The graphics are simple, but functional for its purpose and i really liked the audio work. Nice!

@derek-volker Yes! I just sharpened a knife a few times and it mostly worked. Thanks for all the feedback! I think I will put it on mobile. And I'll post here when it's available!
