This is a cool take on the theme!

It is a very clever idea! But I couldn't get on with the controls, they seemed to be a little unresponsive.

Fun idea, if only more devs would put themselves to avoiding soda ;-)

Cool game, graphics are fun too. Though, scores really should have been there. Check out mine: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/island-guard

I liked how you used the theme, but yeah... the game is still kinda rough... :slight_frown:

The controls feels somewhat unresponsive... The player simply stand still after shooting or hitting anything, instead of playing a little animation or anything. This cooldown should have been better explained...

I also had some trouble with the actual inputs, at first. Since the game screen is too big, I couldn't see the controls when I entered fullscreen mode. Then, since this game uses an unconventional control scheme, I was utterly clueless about how to control it... I later saw it and was able to play the game, though!

Next time, describe the controls on the game page. Or, at least, don't hide it after a few seconds!

Thanks for your feedbacks.

I added the desktop versions.

@gfm There is already a shoot animation but it look like a little the walk animation, that's why. The cooldown is too long, I note for the next version. I resized the game screen.

I like the animation on the soda cans and the mouth. It seemed like there were a lot of subtle animations that were fun. Kinda reminds me of a level in Loco Roco where they go inside a penguin. :penguin: :apple:

Interesting take on the theme- I wish there was a score system though :(

Also the window was way too big, so hopefully there weren't any UI elements on the bottom!

Aside from that, I like the artwork- great job! :)

the controls need a little work, seems a little slow to react, might just be me though, other than that, the theme was pretty cool and kind of close to my thought on- Small world. A common idea for this theme was a small world and a huge character, but you took a different approach making it inside of a mouth, I liked it. Also, cool animations, I really loved the animations and models. Need sounds and some kind of score system and this would be great to play for fun and relax.

No score or objective. The mouth and characters were expertly done. But sadly - no reward for me as the player and the controls are not standard. Great effort!

Great job on this little game! The art looks really great and the sound effects work pretty well. I like that it is all controlled with the mouse rather than the keyboard. I think it was a great decision to give the player much more control. Good luck with your game!

As far as I can see, there is no game over or win condition and no scores as well and it's pretty boring to play without that stuff. Yet, general idea is OK and graphics are cool enough, the game is just a bit incomplete, but it has potential.

Fun to just play around with for a bit. Concept is neat, but I wasn't sure exactly what I was supposed to accomplish. Love the graphics! Will check back in the future.

Would love to hear your thoughts on my game Sling Ship:

Cheers!

This would have been so much better by just having a score or Something to measure how well you're doing. Now everything you do feels kinda pointless. XD
The animations are fun, the take on the theme is interesting, the control could have been smoother. ;)

Tried the web version, but it was really laggy. Graphics are cool. But was overtaken by a germ really quickly. Like the idea, though.

I played this the other day on Livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiOC3F43xF0

The control scheme could stand to be remapped. I had a bunch of issues with Movement and shooting, and there was no feedback to what I was supposed to be doing, if I had lost, or if I could win. I think the core game loop could use some inspecting.

Cool take on the theme and fun concept on paper, but the control are kinda clunky. Im sure smoothering controls and more feedback would make the game super fun. Still pretty is, good work :)

Cool, the simple game mechanics is great. I bet some music could change it in to hell of a good game, and also it could fill the gaps where controls feel laggy. Thank you!

Really original setting that fits the theme. My biggest gripe would be somewhat slow reaction to input. Would love to see the score too (time survived/food consumed)?

The controls were a little tough -- I didn't particularly enjoy the pausing of movement right after you shot. I assume that's there for balance, but I would have loved to be able to run and gun like crazy. That being said, this might be the BEST execution on theme I've seen so far! Awesome environment (love the teeth), great characters, and great concept overall.

Great job on the 3D models and the environment. As for gameplay I was a little bit lost. I didn't really get how the game worked. Some more player feedback in the form of UI or positive/negative sounds would help the player understand what is going on :)

Good start on this. Definitely worth a post-jam once-over to smooth out any rough edges, vary up the food types a bit, and perhaps plonk in some upgrades.

The art and game is cool. I missed some audio on the game and some kind of score or health, didn't know if i was about to die or if i was even doing things right. Some kind of feedback to the player while playing would make the experience a lot better.

Great game overall!

Great game. The movement needs some improvement. And also, it would be great if one could shoot in more than the 4 activated directions.

Not a bad little game, I liked the take on the theme! I'm not sure what the difference is between the apple, soda and microbes since whenever I shoot or touch any of them it seems to do the same thing. Am I supposed to allow the apples to be eaten? Overall, very pretty and interesting, needs a little polish with controls and such, but great start!

No score system but I didn't have time. I J K L was a bad last minute idea for the web version.

@occultone Thanks for your stream.

@npatrick96 A gamepad is very recommended but sorry for people that don't have it.

@grahhhhhhhhh Yes apples are good and there is no difference in reactions because it's the guardian who choice what go through.

Howdy ho,

Fun little game. My one main complaint of IJKL you've already addressed, but yea, otherwise this is a fun little game. I was stupid and didn't read about it first so it was MILDLY confusing what was going on at first - but the graphics being good enough I guessed rather shortly heh.

For a comp entry - very nice :)

Interesting idea. Control scheme wasn't a big deal. Wish there was scoring or objectives in some way. But I like the concept and idea. An interesting take. Good job!

Great idea! Excellent use of the theme, I liked the game so far but it lacks a game over, score, enemy "kill" count and stuff like that, good job!

Interesting concept, I like the idea. Graphics are good and the gameplay too, but controls could be better. The camera works perfect all the time. Would be nice some info about life, and something like score in order to know how are you doing it. I miss some sounds too. Anyway this is a really good work, especially knowing that you used your own engine. Really amazing.

Wow! That's a great idea! My cousin will love this game (she is a dentist, and a gamer). Fits with the theme, and have a potential to reach different kinds of publics (like my cousin).

Good job!
