You have an addicting little game on your hands here :) Music/art style fit the game well for a nice farming simulator. Some things I'll say though is clicking through the menus felt a bit cumbersome. Maybe having hot keys when you reach a chest to select the correct tool would work instead of having to use the mouse. Or... actually now that I think about it, they could all have different locations that you can walk up to. The main issue was I'd go to the box, and the screen would pop up and I'd have to take a second or two to realize where the thing I wanted was. I feel like that would be easier if the location was always on the screen so I could learn where the item was faster (rather than remembering where it was in the menu). Additionally (maybe you've already found this out by now) I would occasionally get some tiles into a weird state where I had planted the seeds but then I needed to rake it again. I would have to just start that tile over in that case (Not totally sure what caused it to mess up)

Hey Marc, great job on the jam, especially for a solo venture! The game was fun and kept my interest with the time management and progression of resources from growing and selling crops. I enjoyed the music and simple art style for the game and it fit the theme very well. The UI was a little difficult at times, as it would often reopen as you walked away from the chest. Perhaps allowing you to carry a few items at a time would alleviate some of the burden on pop menus as well.

The only real bug I noticed was that it will let you plant in same tile multiple times, essentially just throwing away seeds. I also had the same issue from the previous comment that I got a few plants stuck the first time I played it, saying that they needed to be raked after I had planted and couldn't get them to grow. After starting over, I had no issues.

Great work and I hope to see you in a future LD! I would love to see what you do with it if you continue development.

Hi everyone, thanks for your excellent feedback so far. I know there are a few bugs and as always I bit off more than I could chew when picking this idea. But how else would you learn, right? :) Next Ludum Dare will be totally relaxed and only half the features I tried to add this time...

As for WeedControl, I might fix those bugs and add a few more features I had planned (like waaay more crops with different pros/cons, weed that spreads, pests, automated helpers you can buy that do repetitive stuff for you, more levels like start with a little garden and buy a bigger one when you have enough money).

Understand that the UI is clunky, was just the fastest way for me to get it running (it's essentially just one menu that gets fed different items on show). Will try to make it better :)

Aside from the issues mentioned by the other comments, this game was pretty smooth and fun to play, even if you didn't manage to make an ending for it. Great job!

Very cute graphics and sounds, fun to play though unfortunately the bugs I ran into made it a little trickier (I kept losing seeds somewhere). I kept accidentally clicking the ground to walk around while waiting and applying whatever tool I was holding to that square haha! All in all well done and all of those things you mentioned wanting to fix/add sound great!

I like the harvest moon esk vibe going on here. I did have one pumpkin get stuck in the growing stage, but I liked the animations and having to keep the weeds in check. Maybe use the scroll wheel to quickly cycle through tools next time?

That said, I rather enjoyed growing my plants and plucking weeds! Good job!

Your game is fun, easy to play still lack challenge but it was a good game for a compo. Great music, smooth gameplay. It would be more addictive if you have more challenge rather than just normal weed.

Nice simple farming game. I like that instructions are on screen so I can always check if I forgot something. I feel like watering time window may be too narrow, I got stuck first time because I didn't water my plants fast enough (I guess) so I couldn't buy new seeds or grow the ones I've already planted.

Good job, I never really felt like I needed to weed as I could just keep one row or two clear and keep myself busy planting, watering, and harvesting. Got a few hundred dollarinos and called it a day. Nice, relaxing, game!

nice farming game, reminds me of my farming days in stardew valley. Some issues with the menu system if i walk too near and trigger accidentally.

This was surprisingly fun and a little on the addicting side. Great job in making this super accessible and fun. So many LD games make me figure out how to play and punish me for not understanding their game immediately, I did not feel that at all. I was given time to learn and enjoy the game and immediately felt drawn in, great job!

A relaxing and straightforward game, great job considering it's a compo entry. It's a bit easy to enter a loop of fast money-making without much strategy, but that way the experience is more satisfying and adictive. Congrats!

1 thing I'm not into is having to go back everytime to change the tool, I wish if I could change in between 2 tools at the same time.
