No Space for Sympathy by Cibbler

[raw]
made by Cibbler for LD 42 (JAM)

ALL assets (models, textures, sound fx, music), as well as all programming, was made during the jam.

This game was supposed to be made by 7 people:

Programmers: - Shuskey - Cobble - JoeKickass

Modellers: - PixelUltimate - OwainB - Nik. ROD

Music: - Nope (that's his name)

Buuuuut, in the end, it was just a programmer crunching which is why we couldn't really keep up with the scope, sorry about that.

The game takes place on a space station that is crumbling, you have to manage your crew to fix the ever breaking pieces of the station whilst trying to save as much oxygen as you can to keep everyone alive, eventually though, that probably won't be possible, so you will have to choose people to let go of your crew.

You can get the (amazing) soundtrack here: https://soundcloud.com/austinjmusic/sets/no-space-for-sympathy

The light is wierd in the html version of the game, sorry about that! unknown.pngunknown (2).pngunknown (1).pngunknown.pngunknown (4).pngunknown (5).png

Interesting concept and good overall atmosphere. You may use different style and font for buttons and menu in order to make them more "integrated" into the game. Congratz

Nice game with a good soundtrack. Couldn't really find the theme and encountered some minor bugs but overall a solid submission.

Interesting concept, I feel a bit more UI is needed during gameplay though specially to show something such as each person for quickly jumping around the ship. It took me a couple of tries to realize I had people in other rooms. Some balancing could be used as well, I was on normal and the oxygen depleted in about 30 seconds. The main menu itself was nice and had good animations on the UI content as a whole. Perhaps tweak the background a little so it looks less of a noise map though. The 3D, and animations are good for a game jam so a plus there. I had the sound turned down in the menu and applied but when I went into game it became quite loud again. The tutorial also mentioned about left clicking to move the characters but was instead the right click. Overall a nice entry for the game jame. I am like @timbals though and really couldn't fine the theme in the chunk of game I was playing. This could be due to the level design which could of started you out in a large room with multiple people forcing you into tinier rooms thoughout the gameplay or something.
