It's the middle of summer and the people of the midwest need their hot dogs! However, they're unevenly distributed to each town, so it's your job to even it out.

🎮 Play on the Web (Flash)

🌭🌭🌭 C O N T R O L S 🌭🌭🌭

Press SPACE to start

Press D to destroy a town as your truck passes it by

Press H to throw a hot dog at a town as your truck passes it by

🌭🌭🌭🌭 G O A L 🌭🌭🌭🌭

Get points by giving hot dogs to towns who need it.

If you need more hot dogs, you can destroy a town, but you'll lose some points, so choose carefully.

Alternatively, you can do absolutely nothing and just enjoy the randomized town names. That's what I do.

A pretty chilled out game with a lovely visual style. The town names were entertaining but the core gameplay was very one dimensional.

Nice style, chill game but the gameplay is very repetitive.

It wasn't much of a game, and not a kind I would normally play. Graphics were nice enough. I would have enjoyed fun sound effects to go along with the silly theme.

Was simple but also very fun. The concept of destroying towns just to steal hot dogs was the in my opinion the funniest thing.

A very simple Game, but its relaxing. There are no panalties and no loose state, if you have mins points. Whats the real sacifice, then?

Nice job! The gameplay could've have had some more unique mechanics but other than that, well done!

A simple mechanic, but i found it enjoyably zen, specially with the chill music. It's fun to build a game with a single simple mechanic sometimes.

I loved the menu screen: "D DESTROY | H HOTDOG".

The music is absolutely lovely, and I think the do nothing strat is the best way to enjoy this game.

I had a great time, well done!

I really love the chillness - Music is peaceful and calming. Throwing Hotdogs is one of my favorite past-times! Fun Game!

I felt guilty about sacrificing entire towns for hotdogs, but that's just life in the midwest for ya

I really liked the aesthetic, the graphics, the music, it all worked together well.

Also, Go HaxeFlixel!

@wizard-exe Were you playing the HTML5 version in Chrome? I fixed a bug that was causing audio to not play. Sorry about that!

@lenny-sirivong You're absolutely right: "the do nothing strat is the best way to enjoy this game." If I expanded on the concept it would just be procedurally generated towns and scenery. No more hot dogs. B)

@limered Yeah, no goals or penalties are this game's fatal flaw. The sacrifice is that you have to destroy some towns in order to give other towns hot dogs, but when you can't 'lose' the game... you're right, it doesn't feel like a sacrifice at all. Oh well.

You do know this is a GAME Jam, right? :bub:
I love generated names, so keep making more of that please! Also be sure to tell your mom that she's in your new game. Thank you.

Interesting idea, I'm always interested in random generation! How did you generate the names?

@red The names are combined from 3 arrays: the first array is just potty words (Poo, Fart, Booger, etc), the second array has joiner syllables (et, er, son, i, etc), and the last array has place suffixes (-ville, Town, -boro, -delphia, etc). There's a fourth array that has a 10% chance of adding a prefix (Neo, Fort, Olde, etc) but it doesn't work right, haha
