I think you hold a good principle (Should I read or skip the text ? Auto fight (chance of dying) or choose my attack (more sure but more slow). Good job :)

A great idea, and well-executed. I love the self-aware nature of the game, how it knows it's slowing you down and tripping you up and takes pride in it. I might give it a few more goes just to see how fast it's possible to finish the game if you know what you're doing beforehand.

Really fun game! Spent ages playing this, almost a shame to speedrun it as there is plenty of detail and polish that has gone into it. Well done!

@GoodKenneth great time! You actually _have_ set a new world record. You can reset through the PICO-8 pause menu accessed with Enter (I will add this to the description)

Great system! I killed 11 rats in 5 minute and still didn't get a reward so I might be doing something wrong. The battle system is slick though! Very smooth overworld, levels and battles! Well done!

It's a funny little game you've made here, though the amount of time I spent trying to vibrate through the gate guard left me a little disappointed there weren't more glitches to exploit. I guess pico8 is a bit too robust for that though.

And sharing my pb, to get into the top 3~

Hahahaha super funny concept. I loved how you made quest long and laborious, just to loose players who don't understand the real concept. Had a hard time on that dark romm x___x

I'm glad to see more and more Pioo 8 games appearing on game jams.

I felt like I was being punished at first, but then speedrunning sense kicked in and saw the time savers. Satisfying to win and think about how you could have done it faster. You highlighted the key feel of speedrunning, good job.

Mine time was a little over 10 minutes, however I did the whole rat quest (no rewards! :( ) first before figuring out what I should be doing ^_^. I really like being told I set a world record at the end, though clearly I didn't ;).

That was really well done, great set of content for a compo game, and looks great, a little sound would have gone a long way, I think.
